Chapter 31 🔞
As he swept over every inch of the warm, silky interior of her mouth, their breaths mingled and their saliva mixed.
He barely restrained the impulse to bite down on her tongue, which remained frozen in startled confusion. The instant he drew back, she gasped for air and hurriedly began to protest.
“Hah… w-wait… just a moment. Your Grace, if you do this, y-you’ll regret it. I-I… I’ve read a lot of novels. Relationships like this always end badly—mmph…!”
Silencing the chattering woman with another kiss, Dominic pushed her back until she was lying atop the stately antique table.
The tongue that had remained motionless gradually began to respond, entwining naturally with his.
The wet sound of lips meeting and parting echoed unabashedly through the room.
“Mmh… mm!”
At some point, Irene had closed her eyes as well, instinctively chasing only his tongue.
Just as the sharp scent of gunpowder lingering at the tip of her nose began to feel more intoxicating than any perfume, he pulled back just enough to ask.
“What was that? What was supposed to end badly?”
Her eyes fluttered open, unfocused as she stared blankly up at him. His gaze swept over her dazed expression, flushed cheeks, parted, glistening lips, and the rise and fall of her unsteady breathing before he repeated:
“If you’re going to say something, say it properly. What’s supposed to end badly?”
Only then did she seem to snap back to her senses.
Her shoulders stiffened. Propping herself up slightly, Irene darted her eyes about in panic before finally managing to answer.
“The outcome… won’t end well.”
Dominic frowned faintly.
“What outcome could possibly come from this?”
“In… in the novels I’ve read… it always ends in ruin…”
“You seem to be misunderstanding, Miss Vanderberg. All you have to do is satisfy that perverse libido of yours, then go back to being a proper governess and do your utmost to persuade Chloe. Don’t start getting the wrong idea.”
His voice was so detached it bordered on cold as it brushed against her ear.
“The worst outcome you’ll see is Chloe refusing to listen to you.”
Reading the unwavering resolve in his eyes, Irene quietly closed her mouth. It was clear he had no intention of accepting another refusal.
Dominic looked down at the now-docile woman and gave his next command with arrogant certainty.
“Take your clothes off.”
Her heart lurched as if it had dropped straight to the pit of her stomach.
Even with her hands trembling in humiliation, the governess slowly undressed.
Her cheeks burned crimson. Her tear-bright eyes wavered as she stole a timid glance at Dominic before making one last earnest attempt.
“Your Grace… it’s not too la—mmph!”
Despite having already stripped, she still hesitated.
He silenced her by claiming her lips once more. His smooth tongue slipped effortlessly between her parted lips. Perhaps because they had already kissed once, she no longer tried to resist him.
Wet, intimate sounds filled the quiet study as their saliva mingled and their tongues brushed together.
Only when she began gasping for air did he finally release her lips.
Curling one corner of his mouth in mockery, he sneered.
“That’s not something a woman standing here completely naked ought to be saying, Miss Governess.”
His hand came to rest against the pale skin of her exposed cleavage. There was no gentle caress.
Instead, he immediately gripped both of her knees and forced them apart. She instinctively tried to keep her legs closed, straining against him, but her resistance was futile.
“Mm…”
As the man’s gaze dropped between her legs, Irene’s face burned even hotter.
It was a place she had never shown anyone. She had imagined that only after marriage would her husband ever see her like this. And when that day came, she had thought it would happen slowly, cautiously, with care.
But contrary to Irene’s expectations, Dominic neither stroked her smooth skin nor touched her with any tenderness. Instead, he reached unhesitatingly between her thighs, lowering his hand straight to the narrow, damp entrance.
“Aah!”
The brazen touch made her vision swim. Without waiting for her body to yield, he pushed a finger inside.
A sharp, unfamiliar pain shot through her, and her eyes squeezed shut.
“Mngh!”
Her knees instinctively tried to close. Using his elbow, he knocked her legs apart again.
“Don’t move.”
“A-Alright… ah…”
Two long fingers pressed deeper into her. As his thumb pressed and rubbed at the sensitive spot outside, her body responded reflexively, moisture gradually gathering around his fingers.
Lewd, wet sounds filled the room as his fingers moved within her. Dominic’s eyes narrowed.
As an intelligence officer, he had been trained in a remarkably broad range of knowledge.
Not only the skills essential for combat and survival, but also the education expected of a duke—knowledge that extended even to the body’s vulnerable points… and its erogenous zones.
He had never expected to put any of it into practice.
Yet now that he found himself facing the situation firsthand, even he was momentarily caught off guard.
So this is…
How was anyone supposed to keep their composure in a situation like this?
