Chapter 52 🔞
“…What?”
Did he just say what she thought he said? Now it was Marie’s turn to stare wide-eyed.
“I told you. You’re a lovely Omega. Don’t worry, we’re still in the lovely friend stage!”
Surely, that kind of teasing couldn’t be a real confession. Marie fumbled for an appropriate reaction and, in the end, simply laughed. His bright, cheerful demeanor reminded her so much of her younger sister, Freya, that she couldn’t help it.

In a dim room, Russell sat glaring intensely at the post of his bed.
Just a moment ago, the knight captain had brought him a horrifying revelation.
‘Your Highness, you need to see this…’
New evidence suggested that the servant who had been named the culprit ten years ago had been blackmailed. It was true that the servant’s daughter had been in the palace with him, but that alone wasn’t proof of guilt.
What came after remained unclear, but the evidence that Duke Dietrich had covered up the incident was irrefutable.
The only solid lead they’d managed to uncover was that the servant had received a sum of money. Everyone had assumed the funds came from the Count’s camp, but the source turned out to be the Dietrich ducal house.
The fact that the Count was behind the attempt to kill his mother and fiancée was already known, but the Dietrich ducal house had no connection to that murderer.
No, there had to be a connection. Why on earth would Duke Dietrich step in there otherwise.
There was only one possibility: it must have been for the sake of his daughter!
‘Lady Dietrich, you…’
Russell ground his teeth hard and clutched his face.
“……”
The child who delivered the poison to his mother might not have been Marie. That possibility was growing stronger.
At first, Russell had felt relieved to realize the truth might turn the case upside down.
But soon, a crushing reality settled over him.
‘Marie Alphrose.’
How would she react, knowing the truth? No, what could he even say?
On that day when they kissed—
His patience broke, and the scales of his heart had long since tipped to one side.
He cared for that woman, Marie. Even though he had disparaged her as nothing more than a courtesan and rejected her, that feeling rolled and swelled, returning to him, firmly rooted and urging him on.
This was definitely love. Yes, he loved her — the woman he had insulted and made his mistress.
He loved her…
“Fxck this.”
During sleepless nights and days of torment after learning of Marie Alphrose’s existence, she was all he could think about. With a heart full of resentment toward his enemy, he focused only on her. Then, seizing the opportunity, he broke her down.
He shattered the pride of the poor Omega who had been barely holding on, threatening her into becoming his mistress. He bought her body with money. He hurled all kinds of insults and violently took her vxrginity by force.
What if it was all just a misunderstanding?
“Could it just be undone?”
It was utterly ridiculous.
To fall in love with someone you yourself had broken — that was perhaps the most foolish and tragic thing imaginable.
Russell slowly exhaled.
For now, he needed to see Marie.
Look into her eyes and breathe alongside her.
Then maybe things would be alright.

Ah. How did it come to this?
“Haah, hmph, ugh!”
“Marie, release your pheromones.”
“No, ugh, no, ah!”
“Release them.”
Marie, lying face down with only her hips raised, trembled at the man thrusting into her.
“Ah, ugh!”
This was far too much like animalistic mating. Russell’s harsh, painful movements inside her sent sharp jolts through her. Though her body responded to the overwhelming Alpha pheromones by forcing out fluids, no tears fell as they usually did.
When Marie lay down to sleep, Russell came to her. The last image she had was of him warmly talking with Lady Dietrich, and she didn’t know what to say.
That lingering ache from before crept back and she slightly frowned, but he spoke first.
‘Which Alpha pup’s pheromones are these?’
