‘What is that……?’
The whispers continued among the crowd.
“Isn’t that…… Yeong-won……?”
“What’s going on? She’s really beautiful.”
“Who’s that man? He’s incredibly handsome. Is he an actor?”
“That’s Seong Tae-geon. The CEO of Melliot. It seems he came with her.”
There, Yeong-won was getting out of the car, wearing a dazzlingly beautiful dress.
And she was being escorted by Tae-geon.
“That’s unbelievable.”
Chae-young muttered as if in pain.
As Yeong-won was about to step out of the car, she froze at the overwhelming gaze of the crowd.
The first thought that crossed her mind was, ‘Does the dress not suit me?’
It was a bit too extravagant for her.
Tae-geon, who had stepped out of the car first, extended his hand to her.
“Take it.”
As Yeong-won hesitated, Tae-geon grabbed her hand. Someone shouted, “Get it quick!”
Flashes went off from all directions. Yeong-won straightened her back, her face a mix of astonishment as she muttered,
“There are so many reporters…….”
“Things like this are what create news.”
Tae-geon whispered nonchalantly.
Well, what could possibly be difficult for a man like him?
He was a man with enough money and power to handle anything. He raised an eyebrow as if questioning Yeong-won’s expression when he noticed her gaze.
‘No.’
Yeong-won shook her head vigorously.
A man like him probably had no worries or concerns in the world.
A peculiar feeling washed over her.
Just then, as Yeong-won was about to walk alongside Tae-geon.
“Kim Yeong-won! Who’s the person next to you?”
“Is he a fellow actor? Or a lover?”
The reporters’ attention shifted toward Tae-geon.
Yeong-won, flustered, was about to say he was just someone from the film industry when a sharply dressed man pushed his way through the crowd of reporters.
As he exchanged a few words as a warning, the reporters turned pale and shifted their attention away from Tae-geon.
……Somehow, she felt like she knew what he must have said without even hearing it.
Yeong-won headed straight for the photo wall.
Tae-geon released her arm and stepped back.
As the solid arm she had been leaning on vanished, she felt as if she were thrown into the void.
Yeong-won was still not accustomed to standing as ‘Kim Yeong-won’ in front of so many people. She had always acted as someone else.
The sudden surge of attention was even frightening.
‘I’ll be waiting here, so go ahead.’
Tae-geon mouthed the words silently. It was time for her to stand on her own.
Yeong-won slowly nodded in response.
Repeating in her mind that he would be watching her gave her a sense of reassurance, and she climbed onto the photo wall with a composed expression.
“Yeong-won, look over here!”
“Kim Yeong-won! Over here! As expected, the main character is different!”
“Can you tell us which designer created the dress?”
The reporters’ reactions were explosive. A flurry of shutter clicks erupted.
With her wavy brown hair and coral-colored makeup adding a touch of vibrancy, Yeong-won looked more beautiful than ever in her luxurious and extravagant dress.
“I can see why she was chosen as the protagonist.”
“Right? I thought it was a shame for Chae-young to be in a supporting role. Not at all.”
Their chatter continued among themselves.
One of the reporters, busy capturing Yeong-won’s photos, suddenly seemed to remember something and turned around.
“Chae-young! You should come over here and take a picture together!”
At the reporter’s shout, all eyes turned to Chae-young, who was standing at the entrance of the building.
Chae-young remained cold and silent, offering no response.
The reporter who called her out awkwardly explained to Yeong-won.
“Earlier, Chae-young said she wanted to take a photo with you.”
Yeong-won scoffed internally. Well, she had anticipated this.
‘She probably wanted to take a picture to compare us but didn’t get her way.’
Such occurrences were not uncommon during the filming of ‘School’ either.
Chae-young always insisted on taking photos with Yeong-won whenever she was bare-faced. If there was a pretty outfit, it was bound to be Chae-young’s moment.
Today, she seemed angry that things hadn’t gone her way in trying to take a comparative photo.
Yeong-won smiled brightly at Chae-young and extended her hand.
“Come here, Chae-young. Let’s take a picture together. You said you wanted to.”
Feel the tiniest fraction of what you always made me feel, Yeong-won thought as she smiled.
But Chae-young didn’t budge at all. It was as if she could hear Yeong-won’s innermost thoughts.
She glared at Yeong-won with a cold, hardened expression.
Sensing something was off, the reporter, Shin, called out, “Chae-young?”
However, Chae-young turned away as if she hadn’t heard him and quickly disappeared into the building.
Only In-woo remained, staring at Yeong-won with a shocked expression.
As a chilling silence settled around them.
