She had taken a suppressant and endured it alone, curled beneath her blankets. But at some point, she had slipped into unconsciousness, and by the time she came to again, everything was already over.
The first thing Ellia saw when she regained consciousness was herself lying naked in bed with Adis.
Even though it was her own bedroom, everything from the sheets to the blankets was drenched.
Her hair was also matted into a disheveled mess with sweat and bodily fluids.
What had happened was obvious.
At that moment, Ellia had been deeply shocked.
‘What… What in the world did I do……’
There was no need to think about it. All the evidence remained unmistakably clear.
Adis had taken her while she was in heat.
At the time, not much time had passed since Adit’s death. Still unable to escape her grief, she had remained frozen for a long while from the shock of becoming entangled with his twin brother.
Adis had gently pulled her shoulders into his arms.

Adis had continued comforting her, telling her it was all right.
That it wasn’t her fault.
That it couldn’t have been helped.
That she didn’t need to worry about it.
At his words, Ellia realized in despair that her heat cycle had ultimately caused an irreversible disaster.
It seemed she had lost her reason during her heat and released pheromones wildly in search of an alpha. And Adis had become the victim of it.
The guilt of betraying Adit, who had died.
The guilt of dragging Adis into it because she had failed to properly prepare her suppressants.
And finally, the guilt of feeling as though she had betrayed the royal family that had accepted her.
The guilt she felt at the time had weighed heavily upon Ellia.
It was Adis who repeatedly comforted her, telling her everything was fine when she couldn’t bring herself to say a single word.
He merely held her as she cried, gently patting her and telling her that everything was all right.
It was a time when everything had felt overwhelming and unbearable.
Between the loss of Adit and the guilt that followed, she hadn’t been in her right mind.
At that time, Adis had become the only refuge she could lean on.
That was how they had become lovers.
But how had it ended?
Ellia still vividly remembered the moment an unfamiliar assailant covered her mouth and abducted her.
The horrific pain of death as the blade tore through her flesh and pierced her heart.
The despair she felt when she cried out for help, yet no one came to save her.
She didn’t know who had been behind it, but the thought that it might have been Adis sent chills across her entire body.
‘I went to the deserted rear garden so this wouldn’t happen.’
Ellia bit her lower lip.
As soon as she vaguely accepted that she had returned to the past, Ellia had made a different choice.
If this truly was the past, then she had deliberately avoided going to her bedroom because she was afraid Adis would come looking for her as he had before.
She remembered losing consciousness in the rear garden.
But she couldn’t remember anything after that.
When she regained consciousness again, the heat cycle that had raged through her like a storm had subsided to some extent, and Adis was standing before her.
Perhaps he had ordered an attendant to carry her inside, because she was lying on a sofa in the drawing room.
Ellia flinched when she met Adis’s expressionless gaze as he looked down at her.
He showed no particular expression, but she could tell.
Adis was furious. The coldness in his eyes was proof.
And unlike the past, when he had approached her gently, he was now pressing her relentlessly.
“To think you’d bring another alpha to you so openly the moment my brother died. My brother would be terribly saddened if he knew.”
Perhaps noticing that Ellia was lost in other thoughts, Adis spoke into her ear from behind.
Realizing that his voice was full of mockery, Ellia’s face twisted.
“I didn’t do anything like……”
She opened her mouth to protest, but Adis didn’t listen.
His hand passed over her flat abdomen, then lifted the chemise covering her thighs and slipped between her legs.
Over her undergarments, his finger scraped along her slit.
“Ahng……!”
Ellia’s body jolted as though struck by lightning.
Her pupils dilated, and her head fell back on its own.
Her undergarments had already been soaked for some time.
Adis drew in a deep breath at the rich omega pheromones rising from that place.
