Wham! A force gripped my waist, pulling me back without resistance. By the time I realized what was happening, I was already encased in someone’s arms.
There was no need to check who it was. The familiar scent and embrace told me everything.

His whisper in my ear made me shiver as I lifted my head. I was met with Claude’s cold expression, one that used to terrify me.
“Did… did you see everything…?”
I stammered, too flustered to speak clearly.
Claude’s icy gaze locked onto me.

I didn’t need him to answer. The coldness in his eyes said it all.
“Let’s go home now…”
I hurriedly wrapped my arms around his waist, trying to push him away. I knew he needed to leave this place immediately.
But just when it was critical to keep quiet, Daniel spoke up.
“…I’m sorry, Lord Claude. I shouldn’t have let myself be swayed, especially not when considering you.”

Claude gritted his teeth, taking a step towards Daniel. I was dragged along, clinging awkwardly to his waist.

Claude had a strong possessive streak. He would never tolerate me getting involved with another Esper.

Desperately, I glanced back at Daniel, hoping he would run away.
But Daniel just stood there, facing Claude with a calm expression, as if ready to accept whatever fate Claude decided.

“Please…”
As my voice took on a pleading tone, Claude hesitated.
He looked down at me with an exasperated expression, as if he couldn’t understand why I was crying before he’d even done anything.
I pitied Daniel and believed he was a good person. I had even offered to guide him myself.
It was certainly shocking that he liked me, and everyone knew it, but he hadn’t done anything to deserve Claude’s wrath.
Daniel had already suffered enough from being caught between Claude and me. I didn’t want Claude to lash out and hurt him in a moment of anger.
But I couldn’t stop Claude by force. I was scared that if I failed to calm him down, he would end up hurting Daniel.
“Let’s go home, okay?”

Claude sighed in frustration and finally lowered his hand. Instead, he wrapped his arm around my waist and lifted me up.
