In the game, Esper Rampages were no big deal, but now it was real.
As I watched a person writhing in pain right in front of me, I felt my vision go white.
“What, what should I do…? In a Rampage… we need guiding. So, I should find a Guide, right? But where can I find a Guide…?”
Oh no.
I’m a Guide… aren’t I?
But wasn’t I currently hiding that fact?
My panic only made my already not-so-great brain function even worse.
“Ugh…”
“Eek!”
The man struggled for breath and made choking sounds.
At this rate, he might really die soon.
I needed to do something.
I cautiously approached the man. But there was a problem.
“…How do I guide?”
I knew I was a Guide—it’s the only information in my head that I knew about Rose Valentine. She could control her guiding energy.
But while I knew I could guide, I had no recollection on how to do it.
I held the man’s hand for now.
I did it just in case it would just automatically work, but nothing happened.
I mean, in the first place, if guidance could be achieved through simple contact, I wouldn’t have been judged as a non-ability person in the trait test before entering the Center.
So, typical physical contact wouldn’t work.
Do I… Do I need to gather some kind of energy?
I attempted to feel this energy inside me, but it didn’t seem like anything was happening.
A-As expected, I should go to the Guide Center and get a Guide to help him, right?
While pondering this, at that moment, the man suddenly had a severe convulsion.
He flipped over, lying on his back. For the first time, I saw the fallen person’s face directly in the moonlight.
Unconsciously, I gasped.
The man, vaguely visible in the moonlight, was more beautiful than any Esper I had ever seen at the Center. No, just any man I had ever seen in my life, for that matter.
His wet, black hair, long eyelashes with tears, sharp nose, and strong jawline.
His muscles, revealed by the drenched shirt sticking to his body, were well-defined…
All of those details shone with a subtle brilliance under the moonlight.
Even though it felt excessive to think this while someone was in pain…
It was all just too… too…
‘…Sexy.’
My mind wandered, and I was completely absorbed in what I saw.
Suddenly, I felt a cold, refreshing energy flowing within me, passing through my hands as I held his.
A unfamiliar sensation startled me, and I quickly released his hand.
Could it be… I just guided him?
“W-What just happened…? Eek!”
Abruptly, my wrist was grasped.
The man, who had awakened, was now clutching me.
His face was still twisted in pain, but his recent guiding experience had brought his eyes open.
In the darkness, his eyes shone like a beast’s, piercing me with their intense gaze.
I felt overwhelmed by his stare and couldn’t do anything.
Tension hung in the silence.
I finally couldn’t bear it any longer and spoke up.
“Uh, um…”
Suddenly, the man grabbed my waist and pulled me closer.
Under the overwhelming force, my body had no choice but to yield. I was pulled closer to him, my face nearly buried in his sweaty, solid chest. His scent enveloped me.
My face flared up.
Oh god, what on earth is going on?!
Then, in the next moment, as much as more of our skin touched, something deeper inside me flowed into him.
It was a clear, refreshing, and unfamiliar sensation, as if a cool mountain stream were flowing within me.
The man exhaled like a sigh and buried his face in my neck.
He began to kiss my exposed throat.
“O, Oh, Oh my gosh— ohmygosh… W, wait just a moment!”
“Haa…”
“No, I mean, this is too fast…!”
“So good…”
His sultry whispers sent shivers down my spine.
No! It’s not like I don’t want this, but we’ve only known each other for, like, three minutes!
Aren’t things going a bit too fast?!
The man seemed completely lost in the moment, so I needed to regain my composure.
I tried to gather my wits, but he was the one to break the kiss on my nape.
Then, without a moment’s hesitation, he started kissing my lips right away!
