…It’s strange.
His words that a Guide’s appearance doesn’t matter to him, or that he kissed me because I’m his unique taste.
Both boiled down to the same thing.
In both ways, he’s essentially making fun of me.
I should feel terrible, get angry, but my heart started pounding the moment I heard those words.
Sometimes, you suddenly become acutely aware of things you hadn’t noticed before.
That moment was now.
Realizing it was just Claude and me in this huge house. That we were pressed together on this narrow sofa. And that Claude, lying on top of me, had said his taste was unique because of me.

My face must have been burning with embarrassment, surely turning a bright red.
Sure enough, Claude, who had been laughing annoyingly, paused when he saw my face. The mirth in his expression slowly faded, and the light, playful atmosphere turned heavy.
“I, I want to go to my room!”
“…Rose.”
“I want to go to my room! Let me go!”
As I tried to push him away, Claude just pulled my arms and drew me closer.
There was no way I could overpower him. I ended up on his lap, trying to lean back as far as possible, but his arms tightened around me, pulling me closer until our bodies were almost fused together.
He whispered in my ear.
“What made you blush so red?”
“Hiiing…”
“…When it’s so obvious on your face, what am I supposed to do?”
His long fingers touched my hot cheek.
For a moment, I felt the coolness of his touch, but then a gentle stream of guiding flowed from his fingertips.
“…Nnh.”
It had been ten days since I started living with Claude, and this was the first time guiding had happened.
Claude seemed earnest about feeding me, but not much interested in receiving guiding. We hadn’t tried much physical contact, so there were few opportunities for guiding. Even the occasional light touches hadn’t resulted in guiding.
I had been growing increasingly self-conscious, worrying about when Claude’s patience might run out. After all, the cost of feeding and housing me wasn’t insignificant.
If Claude kicked me out for being a non-functional Guide, I would only have Irene’s dorm room to return to.
Naturally, I snapped to attention.
“Huh, Lord Claude, the guiding just now…!”
In my surprise, I almost forgot my current predicament and started to speak.
And then, our lips met.
It was the first successful guiding in ten days. Though he didn’t show it, Claude must have been waiting for this moment even more eagerly than I was.
It was uncertain when guiding would happen again, so it made sense to stop kissing and figure out why and how it happened this time.
However, Claude, thrilled by the kiss, didn’t seem to care about such details.
I couldn’t help but moan. The kiss wasn’t forceful or rough; it was the opposite.
Slow, tender, and persistent.
My lips were softly bitten, my mouth and palate lightly grazed.
The wet sounds, the mingling of our hot breaths, my flushed cheeks held by his cool hand…
I tried to maintain my rationality, crucial in the moment of guiding that had taken so long to happen. I couldn’t afford to be distracted.
I pushed against Claude’s chest with one hand, but he easily caught my wrist. It was all because of him! I pushed against his shoulder with my other hand, but he grabbed that too.
Having subdued both my hands, Claude briefly broke the kiss. His lips were wet and glistening.
My face flushed even hotter.
“You keep losing focus.”
“No, but the guiding just now…”
“Don’t think about anything else.”
Claude seemed annoyed by the interruptions, his forehead pressed against mine as he grumbled.
Why is an Esper more focused on kissing than guiding?
My heart fluttered strangely.
