Chapter 134
As if nothing had happened. No, as if he were seeing her for the very first time!
The fact that she had left absolutely no memory, no trace with him devastated Jung Yeo-jin far more than she expected.
He was the first and last person to make her feel so utterly unrecognized as a woman, as a human being.
Afterward, she supported her husband with vengeance.
She tried everything to somehow surpass Kwon Si-heon.
But the results were devastating.
Her husband couldn’t even come close to matching Si-heon, let alone overtake him.
Then, finally, her opportunity emerged.
‘You’ll regret this. Regretting not choosing me. Choosing that woman with no background.’
She couldn’t bear to watch Si-heon become the heir or circle around that woman who caught his attention.
And so, Jung Yeo-jin planned to place Park Ju-yeon beside Si-heon once he divorced Ga-eun.
“I thought that Park Ju-yeon, who is a step below me in appearance, abilities, and family background, wouldn’t pose a threat even if she were beside Si-heon.”
“…..”
Jung Yeo-jin glared at Ga-eun.
‘Her pretentious elegance will soon come to an end.’
Just as she was barely managing to calm herself, thinking she would let it slide today—
“Ga-eun,” Kwon Si-heon returned.
“Your wrist…”
“I’m fine,” she responded softly.
The moment he arrived, his immediate concern for his wife made Jung Yeo-jin bite her lower lip, a bitter tang of jealousy flooding her mouth.
“What are you two whispering about? It’s making people curious and uncomfortable,” Park Ju-yeon interjected, her eyes blazing with a jealousy that matched Yeo-jin’s own.
“Is there something wrong?”
“What do you mean…?” Ju-yeon stammered.
“Why are you squirming about? My Ga-eun seems… restless.”
Just as he had done at the airport, Si-heon treated Ju-yeon like discarded trash, his words a whisper that cut deeper than any knife. He wrapped his arm protectively around Ga-eun’s shoulder, a gesture that seemed to set the very air ablaze with tension.
At that precise moment of simmering emotions—
“Why are you guys so late… Oh? What happened to your face?”
“Oh my, Mr. Park. Are you okay?”
“Good heavens, there’s blood—so much blood!”
“Oppa, what’s wrong?”
Park Ju-seong had arrived in a state of utter disarray. His cheek was swollen, his leg limping, and alongside him, Jin Wu-hyeon remained eerily silent, watching Si-heon with a mixture of fear and submission.
Neither dared to utter a word, their silence thick with unspoken trauma.
“I’ll take my leave first. My wife isn’t feeling well,” Si-heon declared coldly, holding Ga-eun’s hand as they departed the cafe, leaving behind a storm of unresolved tensions and whispered secrets.
Through the large window, people watched as Si-heon’s sedan disappeared, and only then did they unleash a barrage of questions at Park Ju-seong and Jin Wu-hyeon.
“What on earth happened?”
“Why did you go out to smoke and come back covered in blood? Why aren’t you going to the hospital?”
Park Ju-seong finally spoke, his brow furrowed deeply.
“Damn… As if anyone wanted to come back here.”
“Did Si-heon definitely leave?”
“I think so.”
“Hey, Ju-seong. Get up. Let’s go to the hospital first.”
Jin Wu-hyeon helped Park Ju-seong to his feet, and Park Ju-yeon grabbed her brother’s arm.
“We’ll go ahead. Yu-mi, finish up my share as well.”
“I, I want to come too…”
Lee Yu-mi, who had started to rise, was silenced by Ju-yeon’s pointed gaze and sank back into her seat.
The three of them left the cafe and headed toward Jin Wu-hyeon’s car.
“I never thought I’d end up being a chauffeur for you two.”
“Ugh, shut up. Just get us to the hospital quickly.”
“Why are you taking your anger out on me, you punk? Though you did go a bit too far.”
Ju-yeon asked Jin Wu-hyeon, “What do you mean?”
“Well, about your brother. About Si-heon’s wife…”
“Hey, Park Ju-yeon,” Ju-seong cut Jin Wu-hyeon off.
His eyes blazed with fury as he demanded, “Tell me quickly about that plan you mentioned over the weekend—the one about taking down Kwon Si-heon’s wife.”
“Now that things have come to this,” Ju-seong’s voice was low and dangerous, “I’m definitely going to take that woman.”
