Chapter 95
“Chief Director, this is Executive Director Jung Yeo-jin from SJ International.”
“Come in.”
Myung Hyun-ju opened the door and stepped aside.
Jung Yeo-jin remained at the doorway, studying Hyun-ju rather than entering.
“Team Leader Myung Hyun-ju, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? So you work here now?”
Jung Yeo-jin’s crimson lips curved into a smile.
“Did my brother-in-law send you?”
“Yes, Executive Director.”
“What a waste. Our Team Leader Myung is such a talented person, I wonder why he sent you here. Why don’t you come work for me? I’ll double your salary.”
“I’m grateful that you think so highly of my abilities, Executive Director. However, even this position is more than I deserve.”
“As expected. Our Team Leader Myung, is always so well-spoken.”
Jung Yeo-jin turned her head.
“Isn’t that right… Chief Director?”
She glanced at the nameplate on the director’s desk, snickering as she pronounced the title that followed Ga-eun’s name.
The mockery in her tone was unmistakable to anyone watching.
“Welcome. Director Myung, would you please serve some tea?”
Yet maintaining her elegant demeanor without showing any reaction, Ga-eun smiled at Jung Yeo-jin.
“Please, come in and have a seat.”
Jung Yeo-jin bit her lower lip.
She had expected this woman to be extraordinary.
After all, she had managed to capture and marry the great Kwon Si-heon.
But she hadn’t expected her to be this unshakeable.
Anger began to boil inside her chest.
“The truth is, the position of Hwanhee Art Museum Director should be yours, sister. Who else has such deep knowledge of art as you do? Your mother even owns several galleries. The emerging artists you discovered have now grown into towering figures in the art world.”
“That’s right. What could she have possibly learned as a chief curator in such a tiny museum? This position rightfully belongs to sister Yeo-jin. To be blunt, didn’t that woman steal what’s yours?”
“…What can I do? The Chairman decided to entrust it to his eldest son’s wife.”
“That woman’s next move will be entering the Jinri Association. Sister, shouldn’t we teach this intruder a harsh lesson? Show her who the real owner is.”
After a recent drinking session with her new friends Lee Yu-mi and Park Ju-yeon from a social gathering.
Jung Yeo-jin’s rage had risen boundlessly.
Her pride was already wounded by Chairman Kwon Soon-yeol’s decision to appoint that nobody as Acting Director of Hwanhee Gallery. After hearing such comments, she couldn’t contain herself anymore.
I need to see for myself just how great this woman thinks she is.
With that thought, she had impulsively turned her steering wheel on her way to work and headed to the museum.
‘She’s not ordinary, this one. Right, it’s always the quiet-looking ones who climb up first.’
Jung Yeo-jin narrowed her eyes at Ga-eun and spoke with disdain.
“I want rose tea from Tamarin Company.”
Myung Hyun-ju gave a small bow.
“I apologize, but we don’t have that product available. Would you be alright with herb tea instead?”
“Isn’t this preparation too inadequate? This isn’t some neighborhood museum.”
Jung Yeo-jin sneered.
“You should pay more attention. This is where a member of the Hwanhee Group family and Acting Director of Hwanhee Museum stays. How can the standards be so low?”
Click-clack. The sound of Jung Yeo-jin’s heels echoed through the director’s office as she walked to the sofa.
“I’m worried people might misunderstand.”
“…”
“That it might look like I’m disrespecting our Chief Director.”
Hyun-ju tried to say something, but Ga-eun raised her hand reassuringly and nodded with a slight smile.
Hyun-ju looked worriedly between the two before carefully closing the door.
Thud.
As the door closed, Ga-eun turned toward the sofa and hesitated.
Jung Yeo-jin had already settled herself in the main seat, crossing her legs while watching her.
As Ga-eun stood quietly observing her, Jung Yeo-jin widened her eyes and covered her mouth with an exaggerated “Oh my!”
Her red-painted nails were extremely pointed and sharp.
“Oh my, look at me. It’s become such a habit. My mistake, I’m sorry.”
Jung Yeo-jin responded dramatically, slowly rising to move to the opposite sofa.
“Won’t you sit? It hurts my neck looking up.”
Despite Ga-eun clearly being her senior in position, Jung Yeo-jin was treating her like a newly hired employee.
This was expected. Moreover, living in Gye Young-cheol’s house had long since accustomed her to such treatment.
Thus, she remained unshaken and composed, which only served to anger Jung Yeo-jin further.
“What brings you here today?”
Ga-eun asked in a calm voice as she took the main seat.
