This work contains scenes of sadistic coercion and hardcore depictions of BDSM. Reader discretion is advised.

“Tell him to wait.”

“He does not intend to back down.”
Siren didn’t stop at just thinking—she put her thoughts into action immediately.

On the way back to the royal castle with the group, dark clouds trailed behind them, releasing a refreshing downpour.

What was fascinating was that, since it was artificial rainfall, the rain only fell at the tail end of the procession.

‘Otherwise, the wheels of the carriages and everything else would get soaked, making it impossible to move. It’s a clever idea.’

Riding atop his camel, Yasamin glanced back to check how much rain was falling.

The water Raksha was being sucked into the storm clouds at an alarming speed, only to return to the ground as rain. Then, breaking down into water Raksha once more, it rose back into the sky—a continuous cycle of renewal.

“Ooooh, that’s incredible!”

“I want my family to drink that water too.”

“To not run out of water the entire way… Don’t feel thirsty…!”

The soldiers’ amazement only grew with time.

As their morale soared, so did their marching speed.

Gauging their pace, Yasamin suddenly recalled the moment he had first brought her from Wilkeron.

Back then, she had been limping—but now, she wasn’t.

“I have a question.”

Guiding his camel closer to the carriage, he leaned toward the open window, directing his question at the serene face peeking out.

“Are you immortal now?”

“No. My body is still human. When the seal broke, my physical composition became a bit sturdier, but the fact that I was born from a human womb hasn’t changed.”

“So you’re mortal.”

“One day, I’ll die. Whether from old age, illness, or an accident.”

Focused on making it rain, Siren answered somewhat indifferently.

And yet, even that was unbearably endearing.

There was no doubt about it—he was utterly blinded by affection.

Crazy bastard.

A voice rang within him, dripping with disdain. It had faded considerably over time. After all, it could never overpower the will of the one in control of his consciousness.

“So, when are we going on a date?”

“What date?”

“Let’s go on a date when we get back.”

It might have sounded childish, but he wanted to go out alone with Siren.

There weren’t exactly any ‘nice places’ to go, of course.

But simply walking somewhere together was enough for him to consider it a date.

“…Do you have anywhere in mind?”

“Anywhere.”

“I want to distribute food to the people. Bake some bread. The wheat from Wilkeron should have arrived by now.”

“Then let’s do that.”

For now, Yasamin decided not to stop her from doing what she wanted. He still had no idea what she meant by a ‘stable relationship,’ but if he just went along with it, maybe it would lead somewhere.

More than anything, what mattered to him was staying by her side.

He wanted to talk to her more, but not wanting to disrupt Siren’s concentration, he quietly withdrew.

Though, truthfully, he didn’t want to leave at all…

If anything, he wanted to stay in the carriage and torment her to his heart’s content.

At its core, it wasn’t lust but rather a plea—‘Look at me.’

A childish beast’s desire, something akin to ‘Pay attention to me’ or ‘Focus only on me.’

How long he could endure this, how much he could suppress it—he wasn’t quite sure. But… he would give it a try.

“Your Majesty. The priest requests an audience.”

“With me? Now?”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

Just then, Eltan approached and quietly reported to him.

The subject of the report was someone he had no desire to hear about, and his brows immediately furrowed.

“He did not state the reason. He only insists that it is regarding the rain ritual and that he must speak with you now.”

“Haa… The entire army will take a short break.”

Yasamin ran a hand through his hair in irritation before pulling on the reins.

He had no idea what nonsense the priest was about to spout, but he would listen just long enough to send him away.

That was all he had intended—yet what came from Hies’ mouth was far from pleasant.

“If the princess of Wilkeron is truly an Aquafuran… then she is to be offered as a live sacrifice, as promised.”

“Was that so?”

“Your Majesty!”

It was the first time. The first time Hies had dared to raise his voice at the king.

Yasamin didn’t even have the urge to scoff. He simply stared at him.

“So now, you’re saying we should offer Sei as a live sacrifice?”

“You made a promise.”

“That was when there was no rain. Do your eyes not see that Sei is making it rain right now?”

“It’s only temporary! Once her power runs out, it will all end…! You know better than anyone how dangerous it is to rely on a single person, Your Majesty!”

His red eyes gleamed.

Yasamin found those eyes deeply unsettling.

Because they resembled his own. Because he knew how similar they were.
