This work contains scenes of sadistic coercion and hardcore depictions of BDSM. Reader discretion is advised.

Giving in, she placed a cookie in his mouth before putting one in her own as well.

Crunch.

The moment it crumbled, a fragrant almond flavor spread across her tongue.

A brief moment of leisure before their departure for Wilkeron’s capital.

On the day of their departure, luggage was loaded onto the sturdily equipped carriages at last.

Siren had allowed Nicoletta, Daphne, and other women who wished to return to Wilkeron to join the procession.

“I can’t guarantee that you’ll make it back alive. I hope you do, but if we’re attacked by the infected like we were on the way here… I don’t know what will happen.”

“…….”

“Think carefully. If you still want to cross the desert, then follow.”

The warriors, of course, had not forgotten their hatred toward Wilkeron. They had no intention of protecting blue-eyed women.

They would have to fend for themselves and keep up as best they could. If they still wanted to return despite that, she wouldn’t stop them.

With those words alone, she turned away.

It was a cold and heartless decision… but, well.

At the very least, refraining from subtly urging Nicoletta and Daphne toward death was the greatest mercy she could offer them.

As for the other women, they had been taken against their will, so she had already asked Eltan to look after them.

Which meant that what she had just said was meant for Nicoletta and Daphne to hear.

“My master is certainly generous. To all humans except me.”

“Are you upset?”

“Yes. Honestly, those two humans could be killed. They’re the kind of people who could be used for amusement.”

“Don’t. I don’t want to see something like that.”

Yasamin, who had been waiting in front of the carriage, narrowed his deep green eyes ferociously. Letting out a sigh, she patted his chest once before stepping into the carriage.

So, I’m finally going back.

She had been dragged here in such miserable disgrace, yet now, she was being escorted away in such splendor.

Life was truly strange.

She had held on, telling herself to survive just five more months, enduring and enduring, until one day, a fleeting chance became inevitable, overturning everything.

That’s when life becomes bearable. But most humans can’t wait that long. They hold out until their patience burns away.

Beyond the window, the desert stretched endlessly.

How wonderful it would be if all of it were grasslands instead.

Siren gazed at the boundless sea of sand in silence.

“One day….”

One day, she hoped this land would turn the same shade as Yasamin’s eyes.

Perhaps by then, she could love him.

With every seed she sowed in the desert and every moment it was blanketed in green, she would learn to love.

And so, she would love him….

The royal family had perished in an instant, and their only surviving bloodline had been dragged off to the south. Simply for having blue eyes, sixty-six women had also been forcibly thrown into carriages.

Since then, the atmosphere in Wilkeron’s royal castle had become so desolate that one could hardly breathe.

The grand hall, once the site of constant banquets, collected only dust, and the gardens had become overgrown with weeds.

The southern barbarians who had taken over the castle were not as crude or wasteful with food as one might have expected, yet their mere presence was foreign.

“I heard that witch is returning.”

“The woman who sold out the royal family!”

“She’s nothing short of ruthless.”

The news, arriving amidst such circumstances, was more than enough to quietly enrage Wilkeron’s nobles.

Of course, for the commoners, it didn’t matter whether the king changed or not.

The southern barbarians hadn’t marched in with a massive army, seized their homes, looted their goods, or set fire to the streets.

All they had done was occupy the royal castle.

Rumors spread about what had happened, but they were merely the concerns of the ‘highborn.’

The change of rulers and the prospect of a successor born between a southerner and a Wilkeron native—these were issues that troubled only the nobility.

“We cannot allow this to happen. Wouldn’t you agree?”

“You’re right. That’s why we’ve been making preparations.”

“But can the assassination of that so-called king even be done? We couldn’t even eliminate that subordinate of his.”

It wasn’t as if Wilkeron’s nobles had been sitting idly by.

They had hired assassins from foreign lands, scoured mercenary guilds, and spent vast sums in their efforts to reclaim the royal castle.

But the results were disastrous.

Every attempt ended in annihilation.

And those barbarians, true to their name, beheaded the assassins they captured and hung their heads on the castle walls.

It was nothing short of a gruesome display.

“That leaves us with only one option—poison.”

The one who spoke was Nicoletta’s father.

Count Brienne.

His daughter had been taken, giving him even greater justification for his hatred.

“This is a method that, once used, cannot be attempted again. It is our last resort… When the king and his people arrive, let us poison the water supply.”

“Won’t the poison have a scent?”

“Our family possesses a special poison.”
