Chapter 138
“I’ve never actually used those terms myself. I just know they exist in certain circles. Humans love putting things into neat categories.”
“Ah.”
“So, in short, our goddess is a bottom, but a dominant one.”
Crash!
Just as he finished his explanation, he smashed his left arm through the door.
His previously unscathed limb now jutted with exposed bone, and the sound of something crunching and shattering followed soon after.
Siren made a conscious effort not to imagine what was happening beyond the door.
“Hmm, this place is ruined now. Shall we use another room, darling?”
“Let’s.”
From his arm, fresh blood dripped to the floor.
Of course, it wasn’t his own.
“Quite the grand welcome ceremony.”
“Indeed. I wonder what tricks they’ll try.”
“Predictable. At best, they’ve poisoned the water supply. A thousand years, and humans still come up with the same tired ideas.”
With a shrug, Yasamin opened the door to an empty room.
There was a faint smell of dust, but nothing that couldn’t be fixed with some fresh air.
“Just in case, starting tomorrow, only drink water that I provide. If you help enforce it, I’d appreciate it.”
“I will. Creating water isn’t difficult anymore.”
“Good. Pamilla and Jin will assist as well. The Wilkeron scum won’t realize what’s happening, so let’s see how they react.”
Would there ever be someone capable of defeating this man?
Not unless he chose to lose on his own.
Siren silently gazed down at the man kneeling before her, washing and massaging her feet after seating her on the bed.
Receiving such care was only natural. And for him, serving was just as natural.
Yet, when it came to s*x, it was an entirely different story.
Perhaps this was why he was called a bottom-based dominant.
It was a little embarrassing, but there was no better term to describe the dynamic between them.
“Let’s sleep comfortably tonight, for the sake of tomorrow.”
“Alright.”
There were nights when simply pressing their skin together and meeting each other’s gaze was enough comfort.
A night where nothing needed to be done—just looking was enough.
Siren gently caressed the cheek of the man who had become her husband, staring at him endlessly, engraving his image into her eyes.
Had she fallen asleep thinking that even while looking at him, she still wanted to see him? Or had she not?
When she opened her eyes, morning had come again.
“Huk… Huh, huhuhuhng. Kuhp, phuhehheeng…!”
The next day, everything was indeed a mess.
Nicoletta, her eyes swollen like a fish’s from crying all night, came wailing once again.
“I, I… huhhhng, hic, what do, kuhung, I do now, hueohhhng!”
With snot dangling from her nose, she looked utterly miserable… but not pitiful.
This was simply cause and effect.
Still, Siren was not so lowly as to mock another’s misfortune, so she willingly handed her a handkerchief and listened to her sobs.
“Daphne, huhk, my mother, kuhp, took her away, kuhuk.”
“I see.”
“I have nowhere to go. I, I barely survived, but….”
“I suppose so.”
Being abandoned by the parents she had trusted without doubt—Siren understood that pain.
It must have felt like having flesh ripped from bone, an unbearable agony.
Not knowing where to go, or what to do.
With a deep sigh, Siren spread her arms without a word.
Like a baby bird seeking its nest, Nicoletta crawled into her embrace and sobbed once more.
“What will you do now?”
As Siren absentmindedly patted her back, Nicoletta mumbled.
“Just once… just once more, I want to go see them….”
“Then do so.”
“But I, I’m scared. What if my mother doesn’t take me back either…? Wh-what do I do? Even if my father refuses me, if my mother at least accepts me, I can stay quiet and endure.”
Her hands, gripping the handkerchief as if wringing it dry, turned white.
From her perspective, it was indeed a tragic situation.
She must be terrified—so terribly afraid.
“If you have nowhere to go, stay by my side. I can offer you that much.”
“Even though… even though I did so many wrongs…?”
“Atone for them by serving me.”
Offering a place was an act of mercy.
It was something she could grant now that she had regained a bit more of her divine nature by recalling a memory she had forgotten yesterday.
Life was finite.
Rather than harboring hatred, she had come to understand how utterly powerless this girl had been.
“I will assign Southern warriors as your escort. Go home.”
