This work contains scenes of sadistic coercion and hardcore depictions of BDSM. Reader discretion is advised.

“In my opinion, Sei, true and absolute immortality should be reserved only for you, me, and our children. For others, they may appear immortal, but they should have a weakness that allows them to be killed if necessary.”

“So that if they act beyond our control and do evil, we can eliminate them?”

“Yes. And if they commit atrocities beyond our sight, someone must be able to deal with them.”

Hearing Yasamin’s serious voice, Siren nodded in agreement.

“Then we’ll need to deliberately introduce a flaw in the spell’s structure.”

“Mm. Besides, even those who start out good can turn evil over time.”

“That’s true.”

“And… they may, at some point, wish to die.”

His words carried the weight of experience, making them all the more sincere.

Understanding that, Siren accepted them without question.

“So, should we call this new species we create ‘Immortals’?”

“Let’s call them that.”

“What kind of weakness should they have?”

“Hmm… What if they perish when struck by a silver arrow?”

As they talked, certain details began to take shape.

Silver would burn their flesh on contact, and if struck by a silver arrow, they would die.

To distinguish them from ordinary humans, their eyes should be red—
A rare trait among humankind.

“To think we’re creating a new humanity.”

“Well, we haven’t created them yet, but yes. Let’s do it. Let’s make those who will share eternity with us.”

The people of the distant future wouldn’t know.

They wouldn’t understand how the Immortals came to exist.

Once the concept of Immortals became common knowledge, it wouldn’t seem strange for someone to remain unchanged in appearance, staying in one place forever.

Then they wouldn’t have to go through the hassle of faking their deaths every so often.

Honestly, that had always been a real nuisance.

“The future excites me. It’s a strange yet pleasant feeling.”

At Yasamin’s whisper, Siren smiled gently.

She, too, was filled with anticipation for the future.

Society changes, and the world gradually shifts.

Siren’s goal was to experience all of it with him.

First, they would start by building a small house in a quiet village and living there.

No matter how much they learned about each other, there would always be more to discover.

That night, Siren dreamed of a seaside.

A place where the tide would rise and recede, revealing small crabs peeking out from the damp sand.

During storms, fish would sometimes slam against the windows, and the first floor would be drenched, but on good days, there was no place more beautiful.

Even amidst small hardships, Siren and Yasamin never lost their laughter, and for the most part, they were happy.

Upon waking, the air would be filled with the fragrant scent of omelets, and at lunch, they would enjoy fresh salads. In the evening, they would count the stars, with one resting their head on the other’s lap.

Days like that would pass and pass, yet they would never grow dull.

Simply waking up together, cooking meals to share, and walking hand in hand was happiness in itself.

True beauty lay not in material things but in the time spent together.

‘So let this life be eternal.’

Even in her dream, Siren made that wish.

A wish of the gods—one that was destined to be fulfilled.

The south knew no winter, but Idoros did.

As the seasons passed, leaves fell to the ground, and cold winds began to blow. The children ran around in excitement.

They tumbled through the fallen leaves in their beast forms, sniffing eagerly, claiming hideouts for themselves, embarking on adventures and explorations.

Yasamin and Siren watched over them with eyes full of love.

After autumn swiftly passed, winter arrived.

On the day of the first snowfall, both children were too excited to sit still.

Even Shasei, who usually carried himself with such dignity, played so fiercely that his face and hands turned bright red from the cold. It was utterly endearing.

It was only natural. It was their first time seeing snow, after all.

Yasamin built a snowman with the children, and that snowman remained for a remarkably long time.

A small spell had been cast, rewinding time only for the snowman so that it would stay frozen throughout the winter.

Then came spring, then summer. The trees grew so lush and green they seemed to radiate light.

Years passed, and Seimin shot up in height, much to Shasei’s envy.

The difference between male and female growth meant Shasei could never grow as tall as his twin brother.

The year the children stopped playing tag was the year Idoros and the south alike grew truly peaceful.

Relations with neighboring countries flourished, and no threats arose—a golden age of stability.

With that peace, culture and the arts began to thrive.

Under Seimin’s leadership, painters, sculptors, musicians, and novelists frequented the royal palace, while Shasei led the spread of salon culture.

It was when Shasei turned eighteen that Yasamin mused, “Perhaps it’s time for me to stop playing king.”

And so, he and Siren made their decision.

They would abdicate the throne and return south with only their son.

To the place where their special home awaited them—

A land that was no longer desert, but forest.
