Chapter 98
Sang-hee looked around to check on Eun-seok’s condition. But since the troublesome part was thoroughly hidden by Eun-seok, there was no way for a girl to know.
“Do you need to go to the bathroom? Should I ask the security guard?”
So Sang-hee concluded it was an upset stomach. Did she think he was a guy whose intestines had twisted from kissing?
It was painful and mortifying, but a laugh slipped out anyway. Even as he frowned, Eun-seok’s shoulders shook.
“Ah, don’t make me laugh. I’m seriously struggling right now…”
“What did I do? Where does it hurt? Do you need to go to the hospital? Tell me quickly.”
Eun-seok calmly caught his breath and straightened his back. The raging e******n had stubbornly lifted the thick denim fabric like a tent. Sang-hee’s gaze landed right there.
“What is it? Say something.”
Sang-hee bit her lip and snatched her glasses away. Then she crossed her arms and turned her body. The fact that she didn’t leave right away suggested she was waiting until he calmed down.
Her round back of the head, her gently tousled hair, and her sturdy back standing like a gatekeeper—all of it was a combination that made the corners of his mouth twitch.
Struggling to his feet, Eun-seok took Sang-hee’s hand and hobbled along. Sang-hee, clearly concerned, kept glancing at his pants.
“Stop staring.”
Eun-seok nudged Sang-hee’s shoulder with his firm forearm and whispered.
“If you keep looking, I’ll have to stay like this.”
“Then what am I supposed to do?”
“What else? I’m going to keep you from going home today.”
Sang-hee looked up at Eun-seok with horrified eyes. Her parted lips silently asked how he could say such a thing.
He felt like the most shameless person on earth, but at the same time, he was proud to be able to see Sang-hee’s various expressions. That with just one word from him, he could shatter the indifferent mask she always wore—he wanted to grab everyone who knew Hong Sang-hee and brag about it.
Eun-seok stopped walking and made a kissing sound on Sang-hee’s lips. While she was frozen in shock, his lips abandoned patience and pressed down a few more times, more deeply.
“Hey.”
Sang-hee glared at him as if warning him. Her hurried glances around made her look like a cautious meerkat.
“No one’s going to say anything about a kiss.”
“That’s just your opinion.”
Sang-hee snapped back sullenly and started walking again. Was she angry? He felt a bit self-conscious, but the fact that she still held his hand tightly reassured him. Eun-seok walked to the apartment with a goofy grin on his face.
“Go inside quickly.”
“I’ll watch you go in.”
“I’m already home. Get in the car.”
“Let me play the cool guy a little longer.”
They bickered in front of the apartment entrance, each insisting the other go first. The fact that they were being stubborn about something so trivial made it feel real—they were truly a couple now. He couldn’t stop the silly grins from spreading across his face.
Eventually, Sang-hee turned away first. The round light above the common entrance illuminated her as she entered the passcode. As the door slid open, Sang-hee hesitated for just a moment. But then, without looking back, she slipped inside.
How cold. Eun-seok let out a hollow laugh and walked down the stairs. He got into his car parked right in front and started the engine, but his body felt limp. It wasn’t because of the heat; it was because he was still clinging to the lingering moisture on his lips.
By now, the route between this apartment and his house was familiar without needing the navigation. He turned on Bluetooth music and gently pressed the accelerator—and just then, the common entrance in front of him slid open again.
And Sang-hee burst out.
Did she forget something? As Eun-seok’s foot moved to the brake, Sang-hee’s hand knocked on the passenger window. The moment he pressed the unlock button, Sang-hee climbed in, gasping for breath.
“What—”
Eun-seok couldn’t finish the question. Sang-hee, her cheeks flushed, reached out with both hands and wrapped them around his neck. Their swollen lips met again, and their moist tongues mingled thickly.
The kiss that had ended too soon resumed.
