VII.

After visiting the Ferron village, Aaron developed a new principle: as long as the demons didn’t attack, he wouldn’t attack them either. Even when unlucky demons crossed paths with him and fled in panic, he wouldn’t chase them. Sometimes, in their haste, they would throw baskets or farming tools at him, but he let it slide.

“Why are you so lenient these days?”

Nancy would remark each time, reminding him that he used to say all demons, including children, should be exterminated without mercy.

Aaron, embarrassed, denied ever saying anything that extreme. He even picked up the spilled contents from the baskets and left them behind so the owners could retrieve them later.

“So considerate of you.”

Aaron shot her a sharp glare, but Nancy couldn’t help herself. Teasing him when he was flustered had become far too amusing.

“Stop teasing. You’re the one who changed me.”

He finally spoke, though his words were filled with exasperation. He probably meant it as a complaint, but he hadn’t realized what he had admitted: that she had influenced him significantly.

Nancy felt a peculiar sense of satisfaction, the kind that came from knowing she had impacted him so deeply. The more frustrated he became, the more delighted she felt.

Despite how much Aaron had changed, some things remained the same.

“Hero’s party! I am the fourth most trusted subordinate of the great and powerful Dije, and ack—!”

Before the demon could finish introducing himself, Aaron attacked without mercy. The moment he realized the demon was a subordinate of the Four Cardinal Guardians, Aaron struck swiftly, not giving his enemy a chance to finish their name.

It was as though all the negative emotions Aaron suppressed around peaceful demons were released at once on those who served the Four Cardinal Guardians.

The two of them continued north without much trouble. By this point, it wouldn’t have been surprising for another of the Four Cardinal Guardians to appear. Yet, only their subordinates seemed to be sent, whether from Dije or Iije.

“Lady Dije is of such noble birth, so much so that she never leaves the castle. And the great Iije is busy with a resurrection ritual and remains confined to the main hall,” one of the subordinates confessed when Aaron captured and intimidated him.

If this were true, it seemed they wouldn’t encounter the Four Cardinal Guardians until they reached the Demon King’s castle. Nancy figured they could let their guard down a bit, believing that there were no more subordinates to send after all the ones they had already defeated.

“Looks like we’ll finally get a good night’s sleep tonight,” Nancy said, playfully poking Aaron in the side.

Only recently had she realized that Aaron hadn’t been sleeping well, constantly on alert for surprise attacks. The news that there wouldn’t be any more attacks was great for him, and it put her mind at ease as well.

But Aaron, still suspicious of the demons’ words, responded with a skeptical, “We’ll see.”

Nancy didn’t understand why he was so wary at the time, but by nightfall, she figured it out. The most dangerous thing that would come for her wasn’t Dije, Iije, or even the minor demons—it was her own companion.

“Right after they say no more attacks, this happens!”

That night, after entering the northern lands, Aaron, who had been holding back, pounced on Nancy. She thrashed around, making the tent shake violently as she tried to escape him.

“I was worried you weren’t getting enough sleep, and this is what you do?”

Her angry outburst only seemed to excite him more.

“You were worried about me?”

Aaron, deeply touched, grew even more enthusiastic as he kissed and caressed her from head to toe. Even when Nancy stopped resisting and wrapped her arms and legs around him, the tent continued to rock noticeably from outside.

When will this man ever stop being so affected by my Seduction skill?

Nancy reached her climax as she bit down on his neck.

He always had his pants down and was ready to go at the slightest opportunity, yet he still insisted he didn’t truly care for her. For some reason, that thought irritated her.

Well, once this enchantment finally wears off, we won’t have any more of this intense, forced pleasure.

‘I guess that’ll be a little disappointing.’
