His member, which filled my depths, suddenly pulled out, then my body was lifted up.

“Ah!”

With no strength in my legs, I stumbled and collapsed into Marvis’s arms. He hoisted me up like a bundle and moved away from the bed.

Rip. Tear.

At the sound of something soft tearing, I rolled my eyes toward the bed and saw a long sword stuck between the torn sheets. It was Hexion’s sword.

“Put the Divine Master down.”

“You’re quite brazen for an intruder. Are you a bandit rather than a Holy Knight?”

“There won’t be a second warning.”

Hexion grabbed the sword handle and pulled it out, revealing a silver blade with a cool gleam pointed at Marvis. Hexion’s purple eyes flashed ominously. Overwhelmed by that gaze, I gasped, forgetting to cover my body.

What? Hexion, where did he come from? Humans shouldn’t be able to freely enter areas where the Demon Race lives.

“How did you get in, intruder?”

“I told you there wouldn’t be a second warning. Being of the Demon Race, perhaps you don’t understand human language.”

Hexion spoke coldly, mimicking someone’s words I’d heard before. Then my center of gravity shifted left and my vision rotated. Marvis was rolling with me in his arms.

With a thud, pieces of stone fell from the wall. The stone wall that Hexion had struck with his sword was deeply gouged. It was deep enough to believe it had been struck with an axe.

Marvis picked up the torn sheet from the floor and wrapped it around my body. More than covering my nakedness, it was to protect me from getting injured by fragments.

“Can’t you see who I’m holding? You’ve got a terrible guardian knight, Shin Joo-ah.”

“Don’t worry, Divine Master. I’ll rescue you shortly.”

Hexion said with a cold face before charging toward Marvis. Something whooshed over my head, and the wall light shattered with a loud noise.

“Eek…!”

“Shin Joo, cover your face.”

Following Marvis’s advice, I reflexively covered my face with both hands. I heard sharp glass pieces scattering on the floor.

I could feel the man’s arm muscles tightening around my waist as my body shook up and down. Even with my eyes closed, thanks to my vestibular system working hard, I could feel how violently Marvis was moving. Having eaten nothing for two days and being tossed around like this made my head spin.

Noticing my discomfort, Marvis adjusted his hold on me. When I opened my eyes, I saw Hexion behind him about to swing his sword.

“Marvis, behind you!”

Marvis barely managed to turn and dodge the sword. With a crashing sound, the cut door fell and knocked over a potted plant in the hallway.

“How violent. Is that Holy Knight title actually a lie?”

“If you don’t shut your mouth, your tongue will be the next thing cut off.”

Hexion’s voice remained calm, but his tone was utterly vicious.

I had never seen Hexion fight before. When I was kidnapped from the temple, I did see him swing his sword, but then his summoned beast flew up.

Being a Holy Knight from the temple and my guardian, I thought he would demonstrate elegant, orthodox swordsmanship, but that wasn’t the case at all.

Was it because his opponent was Marvis of the Demon Race, or because I was in an urgent situation of being kidnapped? He looked more intent on butchering Marvis than rescuing me.

“Hexion…”

“Divine Master. Close your eyes. This one’s head will soon fly off.”

“My head doesn’t have wings, so I don’t think it can fly.”

“I’ll make it light enough to fly without wings.”

The blade flashing in the darkness approached swiftly, and simultaneously, Marvis threw me onto the bed.

Thanks to the cushion doing its job despite being torn, it didn’t hurt, but having been rolled around so much, my head was spinning, making it difficult to regain my senses.

Finally shaking my head and getting up, I saw Marvis, now with both hands free, taking a stance and grinning.

“Your sword looks heavy, too. Shall I make it lighter for you?”

A large foot kicked Hexion’s wrist, sending the sword flying. The long blade hit the ceiling, breaking the fan blades of the air circulator before falling and embedding itself in the floor.

“Eek!”

Though I wasn’t attacked, I froze in shock, but Hexion, unfazed, threw a punch at Marvis.

Marvis kicked Hexion in the stomach and retreated, but Hexion pursued him quickly, seemingly unaffected by the blow.

“Marvis, Hexion…!”

I needed to stop the two men. I knew what Hexion was misunderstanding, and it wasn’t actually a misunderstanding, but if a brawl broke out here, one of them would be seriously injured.

“Both of you, stop!”

Tang!

My voice became a bullet, flying and embedding in the wall. The two men stopped moving.

No, that’s not right. I wasn’t the one who fired the bullet.

The acrid smell of gunpowder wafted from beyond the window. Turning my stiff neck toward the window, I saw through the broken glass a man aiming a rifle.

With his tall stature and sturdy build, Kaint, in his perfectly fitted uniform, looked beautiful even though I could only see his silhouette in the darkness.

“The next one goes through your head.”

Despite speaking from a distance, the warning was clearly audible, and Marvis raised his lips crookedly.

“Ganging up like thugs with no pride.”

Thinking he had no chance against two opponents, he raised both hands in a gesture of surrender, making a scathing remark.

“Ugh!”

Hexion’s fist drove into Marvis’s stomach. It must have hurt quite a bit, as he grimaced and rubbed the area that was hit.

“Isn’t hitting someone who surrendered against chivalry? You really are thugs.”

“I have no intention of treating a member of the Demon Race as human.”

“I’m still half… never mind. It’s pointless talking to those who won’t listen.”

Marvis sighed and looked at me. Hexion ignored him and approached me, kneeling on one knee and extending his hand respectfully.

“Divine Master. Are you unharmed?”

“……”

Could this be considered unharmed? I pulled the sheet up to hide the various marks all over my body, then realised it was pointless since they had already witnessed the s*x scene, and relaxed my grip.

Hexion didn’t seem at all flustered, though he must have seen the red marks all over my body.

“Hexion…”

“Yes. Holy Knight Hexion, answering the Divine Master’s call. I apologize for not rescuing you sooner.”

But I never called for Hexion?

As I hesitated with a puzzled expression, Hexion removed part of his chest armor and took something out.

It was a jet-black feather and a folded piece of paper.

‘Ah.’

I know what those are. They’re the items I transferred to Hexion’s inventory during the first cycle.

The summoned beast’s feather.

And the pass with Marvis’s seal on it.

Those seemed to have led Hexion here.

‘But why Kaint, too?’

I shifted my gaze to Kaint, who was still standing outside. Noticing my gaze even in the darkness, his clear voice reached me.

“You shouldn’t worry, your guardian knight, Divine Master. Return to the temple.”

Incredible as it seemed, apparently this time Hexion had asked Kaint for help. It was astonishing that the man who had treated Hexion as a traitor in the previous cycle had now come to the Dark City to help him.

Does that man just rush to help anyone who asks for assistance?

“Divine Master, your hand.”

“Ah…”

Hexion hadn’t withdrawn his outstretched hand. Drawn by the gaze of Hexion, who stubbornly remained kneeling and looking up at me, I grabbed his hand, and then Marvis called out to me.

“Shin Joo. Don’t go.”

“Marvis…”

“You like me, don’t you?”

That’s right. I do like Marvis. I decided to do so in this cycle.

But I couldn’t reject Hexion and stay with Marvis.

[Hexion]’s current affection: 0

Until next bomb: D-1

Because if I don’t follow this man and put out the urgent fire, the world will be destroyed.

“Marvis. Don’t misunderstand.”

I’ll follow Hexion, raise his affection to remove the bomb, and then come back.

…I couldn’t say that in front of everyone. Hexion’s bomb might explode the very next moment if he heard that, marking D-0.

‘What should I do?’

The most urgent matter is removing Hexion’s bomb. However, if I follow him like this, Marvis would be hurt.

He’s already a jealous guy, and if he thinks he’s been rejected, he might go berserk and start a full-scale invasion of the Holy City.

“I like you.”

“……”

[Hexion]’s affection has decreased!

Current affection: -22

I bit the inside of my mouth.

I didn’t know whether to be touched by the kindness of consistently displaying messages about affection decreasing, or to despair at the fact that Hexion, who had the highest initial affection, had finally gone into negative numbers.

‘This is driving me crazy, really.’

At this rate, the bomb could explode at any moment. Who knew the genre would change to survival as soon as I decided on the harem route? I cried inwardly.

“And I like Hexion too.”

“……”

“I wish the people I like could get along without fighting… is that not possible?”

I don’t know how to navigate this crisis while maintaining my conscience. So the only option left is to abandon my conscience.

If you want to blame someone, don’t blame me—blame this insane game system!
