Chapter 122
His choice of “replenish” over “drink” naturally steered Eir’s thoughts in one direction.
‘Stop being so wet. It’s so slippery down there I can’t enjoy it properly.’
She suddenly recalled him saying this last night while flipping her over and thrusting again. He’d even brought a blanket to wipe between her legs before sliding back in.
Eir’s body jerked upward just like it had then. The memory of being rocked up and down all night to his rhythm refused to fade.
As her face turned the same lewd shade as last night, Rubel tsked and signaled the knight, who promptly faced forward and urged his horse ahead. The young doctor, still inexperienced with s****l tension, blinked in confusion at Eir’s sudden shyness.
“Just drink your water.”
While Eir wished to vanish from existence, Rubel remained utterly unperturbed. She almost doubted if this was the same man who’d been a virgin until forced otherwise.
Is this another of the Divine Empire’s fabricated rumors?
Wouldn’t spreading that Rubel Shinote was superhuman help maintain public faith in these troubled times?
Though what kind of faith one should place in a man who couldn’t get it up was questionable—but he certainly didn’t seem ordinary.
“You lied about being inexperienced.”
Eir urgently pressed against the window, whispering just loud enough for Rubel.
“Why would I lie about that?”
“Because—”
She opened her mouth to answer, then closed it again.
She didn’t know why either. Boasting the opposite was common, but why would an experienced man pretend otherwise?
Completely baffled, she rolled her eyes—until Rubel’s expression suddenly softened. He leaned in through the window and planted a loud kiss on her forehead.
‘Oh my.’ The doctor’s embarrassed murmur and the knights’ desperate efforts to look away were palpable.
As Eir gaped, Rubel sighed and pushed her face back.
“Stop provoking me. Shouldn’t you consider how hard I’m holding back?”
“Are you… insane?”
So flustered, she accidentally voiced what should’ve stayed internal.
Rubel frowned and flicked her forehead—both a warning for her recent rudeness and a light reprimand.
“Mind your words around others. I am still this expedition’s leader.”
But that only stunned Eir further. With grave seriousness, she gestured for him to come closer.
Obliging, he bent down—only for Eir to anti-climactically press her hand to his forehead.
Leaving a disappointed Rubel behind, Eir earnestly asked the doctor.
“Does he seem feverish to you?”
The doctor smiled wryly and shook her head.
“Lord Shinote is the healthiest person here.”
So please stop dragging me into your lovers’ quarrel, her expression added as she turned away humming. Rubel straightened up nonchalantly. Still at the window, Eir hissed.
“If you care about appearances, you shouldn’t have done that earlier!”
He answered breezily.
“I don’t mind.”
“Why not?”
“Because these are my people, and I’m impressive enough that minor lapses won’t make them doubt my competence.”
Unbelievable…….
Eir couldn’t help recoiling. But he just looked at her and said seriously:
“However, they won’t overlook you treating me lightly. So be careful—I’m saying this for your sake.”
