Chapter 125
“You’re treating me like a complete joke.”
Magnus spat, his face twisted with humiliation. Rubel stared impassively at his brother before tilting his head slightly, as if bored.
“Promise me you’ll behave. Sit quietly at the front the whole way without a word of complaint. Don’t go wandering around the back.”
“F*****g bastard. Why should I listen to you?”
“If you promise, I’ll heal that wound for you. And I’ll even tell Father you saved me.”
Magnus frowned, unable to comprehend why Rubel would go that far. Was keeping his mouth shut really more important than having ammunition against him in front of their father?
As he pondered, Magnus slowly realized—
What did Rubel mean by “don’t wander around the back”?
What was back there?
He recalled the carriage he’d glimpsed while shamefully clinging to Rubel’s back earlier. At the time, he hadn’t thought much of it, but combined with Rubel’s strange request, the conclusion became obvious.
That witch was inside!
The witch who’d kidnapped Rubel was sitting there as if she were some noble lady. Rubel had banished him to the front because he feared the witch might panic at the sight of Magnus.
How utterly insane—this was the epitome of a man gone mad for a woman. There was no reasoning with him.
Magnus muttered in disbelief.
“Did you f**k her?”
Finally lost your virginity?
Despite wanting to kill him, Magnus felt an odd kinship looking at his brother—realizing he too was just another pathetic man ruled by his lower half.
Noticing the disgusting expression on Magnus’s face, Rubel stiffened and stuffed the handkerchief back into his mouth.

The journey to the capital was eerily peaceful.
It was almost baffling how normal everything seemed.
Outwardly, it appeared Rubel had been bewitched into offering his carriage to a witch, even hiring a doctor to tend to her. Normally, seeing their leader so far gone would demoralize the troops, yet everyone remained strangely composed.
‘Because these are my people, and I’m impressive enough that minor lapses won’t make them doubt my competence.’
Rubel’s words from earlier came to mind.
At the time, she’d thought ‘That’s pure arrogance. I must never become like that.’ But now, it seemed he’d been right.
The soldiers treated Eir like a ghost. They politely guided her way and waited patiently when she walked ahead, but that was all. No one spoke to her. No one even looked at her.
The only people who acknowledged her were Rubel and the doctor he’d assigned. Eir began suspecting he’d foreseen this outcome—why else insist on a doctor when priests were available?
But the biggest surprise was…….
“What did you do to your brother?”
Even Magnus, who’d once screamed “Witch!” loud enough to shake the heavens, now behaved like the other knights. He’d cough awkwardly when seeing her and scurry away the moment their eyes met.
Rubel’s body radiated warmth, carrying the faint scent of soap and steam. Water droplets occasionally fell from his damp hair onto his neck.
He looked down at Eir, who’d grabbed him the moment she spotted him in the hallway, and asked, “Are you bored?”
His tone implied she must have nothing better to do. Though she was bored and idle, that wasn’t why she’d stopped him.
“No…… I was worried about what outrageous things you might have done.”
“Did you hear about my brother’s leg?”
Suddenly scowling, Rubel muttered darkly, “Which bastard opened their mouth…….”
This had happened while she was unconscious—she wouldn’t know unless someone told her.
“What about Magnus’s leg? It looked fine. Did you hit him?”
His expression was so terrifying Eir shrank back slightly.
Realizing she still knew nothing, Rubel quickly relaxed.
“It’s nothing.”
“It doesn’t seem like nothing.”
“Magnus usually deserves what he gets. Don’t take his side.”
“As if I would!”
“Then what’s the problem?”
As they argued in the hallway, other inn guests had to go downstairs and come back up the east staircase to get around them.
Rubel noticed but thought ‘Obviously they should,’ while Eir failed to realize because everyone moved so quietly.
“I’m questioning your morals! For a holy knight, your behavior is utterly—”
“Utterly what?”
His eyebrow arched. Eir hesitated between calling him a thug or a delinquent before sighing deeply.
If she misspoke, he might actually roll up his sleeves and demonstrate thug behavior. Truly, there’s no winning against a madman.
As Eir pouted, Rubel’s hand suddenly cupped her cheek.
Startled by the large palm enveloping her face, she tensed as his thumb pressed firmly into various points—half playful, half massage.
“Eek! What are you doing?”
When she tried to turn away, he easily stopped her and tilted his head slightly.
“I know you’re frustrated. Truthfully, so am I. Very frustrated.”
His fingers finally reached her lips.
His darkened eyes stared intently from mere inches away. Eir shuddered and stepped back, but his finger was already prying past her lips.
He pressed firmly against the wet flesh inside her lower lip, stroking her teeth. As her jaw loosened slightly, his finger pushed deeper.
Rubel stared obsessively at her parted lips.
“My c**k’s been hard this whole time. So uncomfortable and annoying—I’ve considered asking for your help more than once.”
No matter how much I stroke it, it won’t go down.
His overwhelming lust made her lower abdomen tighten unconsciously—a lingering effect of their night together, though she’d thought herself exhausted.
His warm finger pressed against her tongue as it tried to retreat. Like a kiss, he pushed his thumb in, swirling it until her mouth grew slick with saliva.
Eir pushed him away, her face burning. This was too perverted for a public hallway.
But only after thoroughly exploring her mouth did he finally withdraw.
“What was that?!”
As she trembled, Rubel replied casually, as if it were obvious.
“You were frustrated, weren’t you?”
“H-how does this help?!”
She genuinely wanted to understand his thought process. But to Rubel, it sounded like coquettish complaints—This changes nothing! I want something more!
He sighed deeply.
“Should we just have s*x then?”
This entire situation stemmed from them taking separate rooms. Eir’s unusual boredom and restlessness all originated from that decision.
At first, she’d happily waved him off, but as days passed, he’d begun stopping her in hallways more frequently—clearly feeling the deprivation.
‘I planned to avoid indulging desires before the Purity Rite…’
But now it seemed pointless. The body he craved was right there, looking at him with that expression—one more round wouldn’t kill him.
Though it would hurt.
As his mental scales tipped dangerously, Eir—uncannily perceptive—suddenly pulled away.
“Think of what people will say! These are your trusted men!”
That wasn’t the reason.
She apparently thought he’d taken separate rooms just for appearances before his knights.
Not wanting to explain the Purity Rite, Rubel let her go without argument. In that moment, she fled like an arrow released from its bow.
