Humans are difficult to understand
When Sia opened her eyes, she blankly stared at the chest rising and falling right in front of her. Though it was partly covered by bandages, the familiar sight she had finally come face to face with again made her feel relieved.
She lifted her head slightly and looked at the sleeping Nox. Normally, he would have woken before her, but now he was fast asleep without the slightest movement. He hadn’t explained in detail, but it seemed he had pushed himself to return because of her.
Even his stamina, which could endure nearly a full day of lovemaking without faltering, had somehow been exhausted to this extent. Of course, his injury was probably the biggest reason, but since it was her first time seeing him sleep this deeply, it felt strange.
“Your eyelashes are really long.”
After touching her own eyelashes, Sia shifted her gaze from his long, thick lashes and began observing the bridge of his nose.

The height of his nose couldn’t even be compared to her own, as an East Asian. She stared intently at his slightly parted lips. His upper lip was a little thin, but his lower lip was quite full.
Every time those lips had covered and bitten hers, she could clearly feel the texture.
“How are a man’s lips this soft and plump.”
On the contrary, the texture was so nice that she felt like biting his lower lip herself. After carefully studying his face, Sia slowly lowered her gaze.
Compared to his small face, his neck was fairly thick. And what about the line of his neck and shoulders connected to it? When he wore clothes, he looked slender. But when he took them off, he was this solid.

Sia thought that spending time admiring the sleeping Nox wasn’t bad at all. Was that why he always waited until she woke up?
At that moment, his dense black eyelashes trembled as if an earthquake had struck. Resting her chin in her palm, Sia quietly watched.
As his lashes lifted like curtains being drawn, his mysterious two-colored eyes were revealed. With no focus yet, they looked hazy, like jewels—jewels glittering in sunlight.
The gradually clearing eyes moved slowly and then settled on her. Sia witnessed the way happiness filled his gaze the moment he saw her. Her face began to feel warm.
Soon, his low voice, quiet but pleasant, flowed out.
“Good morning, Sia.”
“…Good morning, Lord Nox.”
At her greeting, the corners of Nox’s lips lifted high. Even his eyes narrowed, making him look like a well-fed cat. Wrapping an arm around her back, he whispered close to her.
“How long are you going to keep calling me ‘Lord Nox’?”
“…It does feel a bit strange if I’m the only one calling you Lord Nox, doesn’t it?”
“Hm?”
“…Master, did you sleep well?”
The title ‘Master’ felt extremely awkward, so she lowered her eyes in embarrassment. A brief silence followed. When no response came, she found it odd and lifted her gaze again.
Nox had lowered his head, covering half his face. The parts of his face and neck that were visible were just as red as hers.
“What’s wrong? Does your injury hurt?”
Since he wasn’t someone who would suddenly go quiet like this, Sia assumed he must be in pain. She quickly sat up and tried to get off the bed, intending to call the physician.
But she couldn’t. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her back down.
“…It doesn’t hurt. I’m fine.”
“Then why were you acting like that?”
“……”
Nox couldn’t answer. He had only said it because he wanted her to call him by name, but her unexpected reply had genuinely surprised him. It wasn’t any different from the way the servants called him ‘Master’, yet the feeling had been strange in that moment.
At the same time, the thought crossed his mind that being called that by her once or twice might not be so bad, and that made him feel shameless. He felt embarrassed and flustered, but the word ‘Master’ she had spoken kept echoing in his ears, and he couldn’t bring himself to look at her directly.
“So you are in pain after all.”
Seeing him unable to respond, Sia spoke firmly. Thinking she knew it, she tried to get up again, but he firmly grabbed her wrist.
“…It’s just.”
“What did you say?”
“My heart is beating too fast.”
“…Because I called you Master?”
“Ugh.”
“Hey!”
At the mention of ‘Master’ slipping from her lips again, Nox clutched at his chest and collapsed forward.
