Chapter 126
While wandering restlessly with his body hidden in the forest, James finally straightened up, unable to endure the frustration any longer.
“I’ll just go myself and scout the area.”
“They should be coming back around now.”
No sooner had John finished speaking than figures appeared in the distance. James narrowed his eyes and sniffed the air.
“…There’s a strange scent mixed in. That fishy smell, it’s definitely the snake tribe.”
James bared his teeth and took off running. The two wolf tribe members dragging along the one who was still paralyzed flinched when they saw the duke charging toward them at tremendous speed.
Reaching them in an instant, James clicked his tongue when he saw the subordinate who was still barely conscious.
“Did you run into the snake tribe?”

The three subordinates relayed Marcel’s message. Even as they spoke, they were worried. It felt like they might get scolded for this.
“…The enemy of your enemy is your ally, he said?”
“Yes… he told us to pass that along.”
“So our comrade was bitten by the snake tribe, and instead of doing anything, you came back just to deliver their message? Without taking any measures?”

The two fell silent, and the one struck by the paralysis venom only drooled, his lips barely moving. After a brief silence, James moved quickly and punched each of the subordinates across the face.

“The ones I hate even more than the cat tribe are the snake tribe. And what? ‘They told us to pass along a message’?”
“I heard everything as well.”
John, who had approached without them noticing, nodded with admiration.
“What a truly devious tribe. Rather than interfering with each other and ruining their plans, they’re proposing a temporary alliance. Devious, but efficient.”
“…Are you saying we should join hands with the snake tribe?”
“There’s no need to join hands. We’d merely be getting on the same boat for a short while.”
One of the subordinates who had been knocked down suddenly remembered the most important part and jumped to his feet.
“Your Excellency, how did you know?”
“…Know what?”
“As you said, it seems the human really is at the Blois manor.”
At those words, both James and John’s expressions changed.
“…Did you see the human yourself?”
“No, but—”
“You need another hit to come to your senses!”
Annoyed that his hopes had been raised only to be walked back, James lifted his fist again. The subordinate quickly covered his face with both arms and shouted.
“Th-The Crown Prince of the Pelles Empire came and left!”
“…Oh?”
“I overheard the snake tribe talking. They said Duke Blois and the Crown Prince don’t get along. But if he still went all the way to the ducal manor, then it must be true.”
“Oh…”
James let out a low sound of admiration. He had only come because the feeling wouldn’t leave him, just a rough guess based on suspicion, but it had turned out to be true.
“Oho…”
John also murmured in admiration. This was why serving James wasn’t as unpleasant as it seemed. Sometimes, it was even enjoyable. Like right now.
“We should confirm it.”
John stroked his chin and stared into the air. James knew that whenever John looked like that, a path would soon appear. He was his vassal, but for a wolf, he was remarkably cunning.
It had also been John who suggested raiding the neighboring Blois territory to compensate for the declining harvests that had been troubling their domain year after year. A very reassuring ally, but if he were an enemy, he would be quite troublesome.

Sia was sitting on top of Nox, her legs spread wide. His length was buried so deeply inside her that she couldn’t move at all, like she had been impaled. Both her ankles were firmly gripped by him, so she couldn’t even struggle.
It was certainly the position she had wanted, but this wasn’t what she had meant. Unable to move, Sia could only cry out as the deepest part of her was stimulated over and over.

Nox leaned back against the headboard and drove his hips upward forcefully. Each thrust lifted Sia’s body into the air, and unwilling to allow even that brief separation, he pulled her back down by the ankles he held tightly.

Then Nox lifted her ankles higher. Her center of gravity suddenly tipped backward, and Sia hurriedly reached out with both hands to grab onto his hard thighs.
