Chapter 83
It was only then that Sia realized Nox was misunderstanding the situation. She grabbed his wrist and hurried to explain.
“That’s not it. Ah… how should I put this…”
“A-Are you sure you’re all right?”
Seeing Sia calmer than he expected, Nox forced himself to press down the flood of emotions.
“Yes, I’m fine. There’s no need for you to be so alarmed.”
“But you said your stomach hurt. It’s all my fault. I was too rough last night—”
“Ah! Stop saying that!”
He had been rough yesterday. Raw and untamed, wild in a way he hadn’t been before. Compared to their first time, he was more relentless and far more skilled. She had truly thought she might die.
Die from pleasure…
Sia hadn’t known she even had this side to her. People really did need experience to know what was good or not. She forgave her past self, who had once believed s*x was always something bad simply because she knew nothing.
Honestly, what they did last night had been exhausting enough to feel fatal, and yet so good it drove her crazy.
“There’s bleeding. If we leave this alone, it could be dangerous. We should call the doctor anyway.”
“So… about that…”
Sia hesitated, unsure how to explain, then decided to be honest.
“I told you before, remember? Humans have certain days when they ovulate.”
“Mhm…”
“And on those days, if… if the sperm and egg don’t meet, then… well…”
Speaking aloud what she’d once only learned in s*x education left her feeling strangely embarrassed. Maybe because Nox was staring at her with such a guileless, childlike face.
Well, it wasn’t surprising. The feline beastkin didn’t have ovulation cycles like humans, so of course he wouldn’t know.
After thinking for a moment, she tried a different approach.
“Um… are there any canine beastkin?”
“…Why are you asking that all of a sudden?”
Nox’s face, pale just moments ago, flushed a deep red. His voice rumbled low, almost like a growl, and Sia quickly waved both hands as she continued.
“It’s just, humans have something like dogs do! It’s called menstruation! This isn’t from an injury!”
“…Menstruation?”
Having to spell everything out made her flush with humiliation. Frustration rose all at once. She yanked the blanket tight around herself and yelled.
“Ugh, forget it! Just go look it up in a dictionary or something!”
“S-Sia?”
“Stop saying my name so much! You’re going to wear it out!”
“……”
Nox shut his mouth like a clam and watched her warily. His heart pounded. It was the first time she’d ever raised her voice so fiercely.
“Ah, geez. My stomach hurts, and my back too…”
Last night had been mostly from behind, so her hips and backside ached. She wasn’t even sure why her rear was so sore, but it was.
“W-Wait right here!”
If he wanted to fix this, he needed to know exactly what she was talking about. In a rush, Nox dashed out of the room. She could hear him clattering noisily in the sitting room as he fumbled into his clothes.
Bang! The door shut loudly enough to echo back to the bedroom. Sia narrowed her eyes and peeked under the blanket to check herself.
“Haa… I knew it was about time, but I didn’t expect it to come like this.”
She sat up and began pulling together the soiled sheets and covers.
“I have to wash this myself.”
There was no way she could hand this over to anyone else. Sia waddled toward the bathroom, feeling like her pelvis creaked after being spread for hours.
“So annoying, seriously.”
Flustered and exasperated, she was irritated beyond measure. So she shoved the bedding into the bathtub, filled it with water, and began stomping it furiously.
* * *
Looking pale as death, Nox stormed into the room where Cedric was. Cedric, who had just been preparing a meal thinking they’d be waking soon, jumped out of the kitchen in alarm.
“What’s wrong, Master!”
If Nox looked that shaken, Cedric figured something serious must have happened to Sia.
“I’ll summon the doctor at once!”
Since Sia was human, Cedric had worried that even an elite male like Nox might still be too much for her to handle. He thought something terrible had occurred, but the words out of Nox’s mouth were nothing he expected.
“Do we have any books about the wolf tribe?”
“…Excuse me?”
“In beastkin, there are no dogs, right? I know about animals, but I’ve never heard of dog beastkin. The closest thing is the wolf tribe. Are there books about their bodies?”
