Chapter 19
Thud.
The sound of water from the bathroom stopped, and the door opened again after some time had passed. Richard stepped out, his dark hair still damp. Drying his hair with a towel, he spotted Louise fast asleep, her head resting on the table.
Her flaxen hair, scattered over her small shoulders, shimmered in the room’s light like stars. As she slept with her cheek pressed against the table, she looked even more like a young girl.
“Huu…”
Richard let out a low sigh. Sleeping like that would leave her body aching all over by morning. He picked her up gently, her small form feeling as light as a feather. Holding her warm and soft body reminded him of the cat he used to have when he had been a child.
“…!”
Just as he was about to carry her to the bed, Louise made a small sound and shifted in his arms. Even in her sleep, she instinctively sought warmth, causing his broad, muscular back to stiffen.
Her fresh, sweet scent, reminiscent of a blooming flower or ripe fruit, had been stimulating him since earlier. Her natural fragrance was more provocative than any perfume designed to arouse a man.
The soft hair brushing against his arm and the glimpses of her pale skin awakened his most primal instincts and desires.
‘This is madness.’
Ever since he left red marks on her body as evidence of consummation, he had been struggling to maintain control. Not even during his adolescent years had he felt this way. He had to douse himself with cold water multiple times in the bathroom to calm down.
Despite the cold water, his lower body quickly reacted again, making him painfully aware of his arousal. Ignoring the discomfort in his heavy lower half, he carried her to the bed.
‘Could it be that the alcohol from earlier is affecting me…?’
Placing her on the soft sheets, he couldn’t help but notice how cute and pretty she looked up close. Her round forehead, small, sharp nose, and plump lips formed a delicate profile. Her long eyelashes cast shadows on her peach-colored cheeks like velvet curtains.
“Mmmh….”
Barely suppressing the urge to touch her small hands and feet, Richard watched as she stretched out her arms and wriggled. Her restless movements caused her skirt to ride up, revealing more of her pale thighs. Trying to avoid looking, Richard turned his head.
But now his gaze fell on the soft, heaving lines of her chest as she breathed.
The growing tightness in his lower abdomen filled him with deep self-reproach as he roughly ran a hand over his face.
“…Huu.”
He reached out to cover her with the blanket. To pull the sheet from the opposite side of the bed, he had to lean over her, putting him uncomfortably close.
Careful not to wake her, he tugged the sheet, covering her lower body first. He tried to distract himself by thinking about the customs rebate law and the penalty collection plan for foreign trade law violations he was to discuss in tomorrow’s meeting.
“Nnnh…”
Louise stirred again, causing her negligee’s thin shoulder strap to slip off, exposing more of her soft skin.
“…!”
Her half-exposed brxxst peeked out from her clothes, the pale skin marked with red from where he had kissed her earlier. At the peak, a small, rosy nxxple stood out, causing Richard to catch his breath. Heat surged through him rapidly.
“Ha.”
Feeling unbearably tight in his pants, his eyes fell on the white silk cloth in the corner of the bed.
“Um, my lord. The head maid mentioned two pieces of silk for evidence. What about the other one?”
He let out a low, boiling groan and bent to grab the cloth.
