Chapter 27
The thought of bearing that monster’s child made her nauseous just imagining it.
Now, when even the smallest act of defiance was forbidden for the sake of her father’s life, the only revenge she could take against the man was to keep this resolve to herself and sneer at it in secret.
I won’t bear your child. Never. I will never give you an heir.
Whether he sensed her thoughts or not, the man gently wrapped an arm around her lower belly and pressed his lips to the sweat-damp hollow of her neck.
“And what do you think, Hill?”
“…About what?”
“About having my child.”
It was ridiculous, asking a question when the answer was already decided. Still, Hill wiped the smile from her face and replied meekly,
“As you wish… No, what you want is what I want.”
When she answered obediently, the man let out a pleased laugh, kissed her neck again and again, and pulled her tightly into his arms.
“Do you truly think so, Hill?”
“Of course.”
“Then…”
Lowering his voice, he suddenly withdrew. The part of him filling her slipped free. As she deliberately clenched inside, trying to push the milky fluid away, he traced the spilling seed with his fingertips and lifted her hips.
For a moment she was bent forward, hips raised, and then her body was flipped. He grabbed her legs and spread them wide. It was an indecent position, but not especially humiliating. Changing positions during s*x was nothing new to her.
The man gazed at the slick space between her parted thighs, nodded, and hoisted her legs up onto his shoulders.
Hill was just beginning to lift her hips, faintly anticipating the pleasure to come, when she froze. Her body wouldn’t move.
Why can’t she move? …Did he use his power?
Why?
He rarely used it unless necessary. A sharp sense of unease rang through her.
She reflexively lifted her head to look at his eyes. His slightly curved crimson eyes met hers, smiling. A serpentine, unsettling smile.
“I’ve f****d Hill more times than I can count, yet you’ve never conceived.”
“…No…”
“I wondered why…And it seems Hill’s womb is not in good condition.”
With a look of feigned regret, he lightly rubbed the index finger of his right hand.
With a dull sound, the first joint of that finger severed lifelessly.
Blood immediately began to pour from the stump. Horror spread across Hill’s face. Watching her pale expression, the man smiled faintly and thrust the bleeding finger into her twitching entrance.
She felt a thin, nearly watery liquid seep between her sensitive flesh. Realizing what he intended, Hill screamed.
“N-no! Stop! Stop!!!”
“Be still, Hill. Such precious blood mustn’t spill out.”
“Stop it! Please, stop!”
“Didn’t you say what I want is what you want? Or have you forgotten your father is sitting right beside us?”
His voice crawled into her ears like a long, writhing insect. Hill couldn’t speak; she could only gasp, her breath clogging in her throat. Seeing her on the verge of losing consciousness, the man smiled again, lips curling upward, and whispered as if singing her a lullaby.
“For today, we’ll try with just a finger. If that fails, I may cut off the entire wrist. If I pour in enough blood to fill you completely, it should reach the womb, shouldn’t it?”
“Nh—ngh, stop…”
“There’s no need to worry. I am descended from giants. I won’t die from a wound like this, and it will heal quickly.”
His voice had a faint, amused tone as if he already knew exactly what she had been planning.
The sensation of his blood continuing to flood inside her was unbearably horrifying. She couldn’t even scream anymore, only expel shallow, broken breaths until her consciousness finally slipped away.

Her lower body felt dry and raw. Curled up on the bed, Hill scratched her underside, her fingernails coming away stained with dark, crusted blood.
Only a few hours earlier, the man had poured his blood into her again.
Sniffing her hand like an animal, she leaned her head against the wall. Even the wall seemed to smell of blood. She rubbed her head against it, seeking warmth, then quietly closed her eyes.
She no longer understood why she was still alive.
If only she had just ended her life, like her father told her to.
