Chapter 151
Eugenie stared straight ahead, but she could feel her ears growing embarrassingly hot.
“If something else catches my eye, I tend to focus on that first.”
As if she could ‘not’ notice how he’d been staring at her just moments ago.
But she didn’t respond to that line—not until they’d reached the shady gazebo in the garden. Elaine was trailing far behind, and besides, she had more pressing things on her mind.
Eugenie sat down on the gazebo bench, deliberately taking a haughty pose, and finally frowned at him.
“Napier, you were going to say something when you kissed me, weren’t you?”
“Oh, right.”
Magnus started to respond gruffly, but the end of his sentence trailed off.
As if he could ever have forgotten.
‘If I, just in case—’
He had something he needed to apologize for to Eugenie Norton.
But when he tried to speak, no sound came out, as if his tongue was being yanked back by invisible strings. After several failed attempts, Magnus finally let out a sigh, his patience fraying. He’d finally worked up the nerve, only to find himself caught by another restriction.
“Not yet.”
“You—”
Eugenie’s face flushed in disbelief.
‘Does this mean I have to sleep with Magnus Napier again to unlock whatever he’s hiding?’
Well, it’s definitely not happening out here.
Even from a distance, she could see Elaine’s head just beyond the bushes. That left only one option.
“…Come to me tonight.”
Eugenie forced herself to make the offer, determined to set aside time for a proper conversation, even if it meant cutting her experiments short.
Magnus gazed steadily at her flushed face.
‘Does she make that kind of offer to the other men, too?’
He wanted to ask, but instead, he just nodded as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
“If you say ‘please’ while you kiss me.”
Eugenie’s eyebrows drew together instantly, without a moment’s hesitation.
‘What the hell? First Cassius, now this—when did you all start expecting me to take the lead?’
“Don’t be ridiculous—just lean down.”
He let out a breathy laugh. He was ridiculously tall, making him awkward to deal with at the best of times. He should be grateful she was even sitting here next to him, giving him a kiss.
But before she could try to take charge with her tongue, Magnus gripped her jaw firmly and took control from the start.
“Ahn, mm…”
He kissed her as if he wanted to swallow her whole, tongue exploring her mouth. Even as he took the lead, he gave her just enough space to breathe, letting her enjoy it as much as he did.
‘He really is a damn good kisser,’ she admitted to herself.
But the moment she pulled away for breath, she jerked back in shock—Magnus’s gloved hand was already tugging down her black pants.
They might be in a shaded gazebo, but Eugenie recoiled and shoved at his shoulders.
“Wait—Elaine is right over there!”
“How long is that woman going to keep hovering around?”
“She has her reasons, okay?”
Eugenie tried to snap at him, but his hands kept trailing down her back. She found herself pressed into his arms, her body giving way atop the bench.
As his touch found all the sensitive spots she hated to admit she had, her underwear started to stick damply against her skin.
“Not here, seriously—mm, stop…”
“Why not?”
“Why do you think? This is Percival’s estate!”
This wasn’t the shared house, where all five men had staked their claim. The staff here might know she was married to several men, but that didn’t mean they needed to see her with one who wasn’t their master.
Magnus gave a small nod, watching her squirm.
“Fair enough. You’re right.”
“Thank goodness you came to your senses…”
“Still, it’d be bad manners to send you back already soaked like this, wouldn’t it?”
“Mmph!”
She clamped a hand over her mouth as his long fingers pressed right against her c**t, gliding up and down slowly. She nearly cried out loud enough for Elaine to hear.
Magnus glanced down between her thighs, noting the dampness spreading through the fabric.
“Good thing you wore black today, Norton.”
“You—why are you—ah—”
