Chapter 160
Eugenie had the terrible feeling she might lose control all over Carter’s hand, but she couldn’t let herself go like that. Not here, not like this. But Carter made any resistance pointless.
Before she could stop him, he buried his face between her legs.
“What are you—ah, ah!”
Every time he swallowed the juices flowing out of her, his thick throat moved smoothly, greedily—like someone who’d been parched for days and finally found water. His hunger was almost shocking.
“Oh… god, that’s good.”
When Carter pulled back for a moment, a dark, sinful sigh escaped him. His wanton woman tasted as sweet as something soaked in sugar.
Her cries were a hymn to his ears.
“I love this, Eugenie. So much.”
He buried his face in her again, letting her song continue.
His tongue flicked from her slickened c**t to the edge of her entrance, licking and teasing in one smooth line. Every time he delved deep and sucked on her hungrily, she squirmed helplessly above him.
Eugenie tried to push him away, fingers tangled desperately in his blond hair—but all she managed to do was pull him in deeper, making him suck even harder.
“Ah…! Ahh!”
The room filled with lewd, wet sounds—moans and cries, mouth against flesh, obscene and sweet. For a priest, Carter’s tongue was sinful; on that bed, Eugenie couldn’t even cover her heaving b*****s, lost in waves of pleasure.
“Hngh!”
At last, a high, trembling cry escaped her as her whole body shook.
Carter didn’t waste a single drop, swallowing everything that poured out of her, tormenting her until the world went white behind her eyelids.
“Ah… ah, hnnn…”
He finally straightened up, licking his lips slowly. As he exhaled a hot breath onto her sensitive skin, Eugenie whimpered helplessly.
But as she slowly came down from her climax, clarity returned.
‘What am I doing?’
No matter how desperate she was to restore her mana, how could she let this happen right now… Carter reached for her hand again, but this time, Eugenie fought back with everything she had.
“You’re so strange, Eugenie. Really.”
“Carter, just—let me go…!”
“Why are you pretending now, acting like someone who can fall in love?”
“—!”
Smack. The sound cracked through the room.
For the first time in ages, a furious woman and a man with his face turned aside glared at each other. They’d never fought like this—not since they first met.
Eugenie had always promised herself that, when it came to Carter, she’d be the one to give in—he was her weak spot, after all.
But that last comment hit a nerve.
“Do you have a death wish, Carter?”
“…”
“Why do you keep saying s**t like that? And you call yourself my friend?”
“Friend…”
Even with his cheek stinging, Carter smiled. Even if they’d taken vows in the temple and tangled in lust, the first word Eugenie spoke was always ‘friend’.
But he had plenty to say—so much more.
“Just because I made one mistake, you cut me off and disappeared for six years—didn’t even write.”
“…!”
“You didn’t just cut me off. You acted like I didn’t exist.”
He’d braced himself for rejection, thinking guilt would be enough to bind her. Guilt was a stronger chain than love, and he’d use it to move Eugenie any way he wanted.
But he never imagined she’d push him away so thoroughly.
She’d dodged him at Theodora Norton’s funeral. She’d avoided him at their graduation. Even after, every New Year’s card, birthday wish, end-of-year letter—she never replied.
Not once did Eugenie Norton ever come looking for him.
Not until after the other four men were already in her life.
‘We… that… mar—’
‘Mar? Mar what?’
‘…Never mind. It’s nothing.’
‘Typical.’
He never got the chance to become her one and only, even when it almost happened—on the last day before Theodora’s ‘contract’ took effect.
“…You really were cruel.”
“You—”
“If that’s how it was going to be, you should’ve just treated everyone exactly the same, right to the end…”
Despite being angrier than she’d ever been, Eugenie froze, unable to hit him again.
Because Carter, though still smiling, had tears streaming down his cheeks.
