Chapter 26
He pulled his clothes back up while firmly suppressing the smile spreading to his lips. His manhood hadn’t fully settled down, so it was uncomfortable, but he couldn’t keep leaving it dangling in front of her.
‘Ha. I really look pathetic.’
As the moment he had enjoyed through guiding gradually faded, it felt like his senses were returning. There was no way that standing there with his pants down and having that touched in front of her could look cool. Whether the expression he was making looked bad or not, it did seem like his Guide was staring straight at him, though.
Am I the only one who keeps… damn it.
He felt good, and his waves had gone down. It was a little embarrassing, but he didn’t want to refuse it. Still, he couldn’t tell what this stifling feeling was.
‘Is it because… we didn’t go all the way?’
He couldn’t even dare to imagine how good it would feel to be inside her. Just using her palm felt like this, so if he went in, it would really be something else. And then they would go straight to marriage… probably.
Is that bad?
The resolve he had judged so firmly began to waver. What he had thought was a wall felt like nothing more than a pit of sliding mud, already collapsed and leaving only traces behind.
While lost in thought, Kasselard stole a glance at Ephinia, who was standing some distance away from him.
‘Seeing her often makes her seem pretty too… Ah, NO! Get a grip, me!’
Aside from the ball, it had only been twice, so it wasn’t even that often, but Kasselard’s resolve was already wavering back and forth.
Before he could do something stupid, Kasselard quickly called for an attendant. It was to have clothes brought for him to change into, and clothes for Ephinia to change into as well.
“Um… it seems like it would be troublesome if this happens every time.”
What Ephinia carefully proposed was that starting next time, they change into different clothes before guiding. If Kasselard changed clothes every time after guiding, gossip would arise, and if Ephinia went home wearing clothes different from what she had arrived in, that would also invite talk.
Even while thinking that avoiding scandal was already impossible, he nodded in agreement. There was an outfit he wanted to see Ephinia wear.
“I’ll prepare the clothes.”
Instead, they decided that the place for guiding next time would be the bedroom.
* * *
Even in the darkness, the crystal of the magic device glowing red easily caught his eye. It read 1205. Receiving Ephinia’s guiding had lowered it slightly, but even while staying still, it was creeping upward.
‘If I use my abilities, it’ll rise even faster.’
There was no major threat to the Empire, and there was no reason to deliberately call out and use an SS-Class Transcendent on the verge of rampage. The Emperor or Empress wouldn’t allow it.
Besides, there were other S-Class Transcendents, so they would be deployed instead.
They even had Agnes, an S-Class Guide, assigned to them. As it was, they were in the north with Agnes, where rifts occurred most frequently.
Kasselard briefly thought about receiving deep contact guiding from Ephinia. If they did it several times and dropped the value all the way to the bottom, it seemed like he might be able to use his abilities freely.
‘Will such a day come? Can it come?’
He couldn’t be sure. From the start, the fact that they would have to do it multiple times made him antsy. At least until he received Ephinia’s guiding.
“Ha. This is driving me crazy.”
Even when he thought about it again, the guiding only felt embarrassing, yet Ephinia’s touch had been good. To be honest, he felt like it would be fine even if she messed him up completely.
‘I want to touch her too. I want to kiss her.’
Kasselard lay stretched out on the bed, then slowly shook his head. These thoughts were dangerous. They only made him want to do deep contact guiding with her more and more.
And to begin with, hadn’t Ephinia said she disliked him? The reason she was guiding him so fervently was because she wanted to get away from him…
“……”
In the middle of his brooding, he suddenly sat up.
“Why would she dislike me? I can dislike her, sure. I’m the Crown Prince.”
She was a commoner, a woman who didn’t even know who her parents were and had done nothing but maid work until now. She lacked education by far, so much so that even the Lanas ducal household had hired a private tutor to educate her.
And yet she dared to say she disliked him?
‘Well, humiliating her in front of everyone… yeah, I was a bit careless, but it couldn’t be helped.’
At the time, he hadn’t experienced Ephinia yet, and he hadn’t known she was that pretty. After pondering, Kasselard flopped back down onto the bed.
He also knew that thinking about this on his own was pointless. In the end, he had no intention of apologizing to Ephinia. Her also… He didn’t know whether she was holding that incident in her heart or not. They weren’t close enough to reveal such intimate feelings to each other.
“What am I even doing. Just sleep.”
Grumbling, Kasselard closed his eyes. Getting a good night’s sleep would be better for his body than dwelling on these pointless thoughts.
