Chapter 58
‘Is it just my imagination?’
Ephinia glanced at the carriage door, but she couldn’t tell. She hadn’t paid much attention the previous times she rode in an Imperial carriage either. Kasselard had already boarded, and the carriage door was closing. As usual, he sat beside her.
No matter what she said, he didn’t listen.
He kept smiling brightly, clearly happy to be attending the ball with her. Even though this meant he would miss the evening’s guiding.
No, that’s not right.
As soon as the carriage started moving, he would probably draw the curtains over the windows. Then he would pull her into his arms and kiss her deeply. That was what he had been doing lately.
“Depart.”
As soon as Kasselard gave the order, the carriage began to move slowly. Almost at the same moment, he quickly drew the curtains on every window. Before she could even marvel at the magic that activated with a flick of his fingers, he pulled Ephinia into his arms.
“Is it interesting? Want me to show you again?”
He asked with sparkling eyes, openly showing his affection. At moments like this, Ephinia felt uneasy, as if her heart were wavering. She must not let her feelings lean toward him.
“It’s fine.”
“Really? Then if you ever want to see it later, just tell me.”
He whispered gently and tucked a loose strand of her hair behind her ear, as if trying to draw her attention. When their eyes met, his happy smile made her feel shy. As she averted her gaze, his lips pressed against her forehead.
“You’re very beautiful today. You’re always beautiful, but.”
When she glanced up, he slowly lowered his head. He stopped just before their lips touched, looking at her as if asking permission. When she didn’t turn her face away, their lips met.
It began gently and politely, but once he slipped between her lips and claimed her mouth deeply, he revealed his true nature, persistently exploring inside.
Ephinia struggled for breath, overwhelmed by the intoxicating kiss.
A kiss that seemed to invade all the way down her throat should not have felt good, but their high match rate and the two-level difference in rank made her sensitive. When she twisted slightly at the feeling of her n*****s tightening inside her corset, Kasselard’s blue eyes curved beautifully as he smiled.
“Ha… You’re so cute, Ephie…”
He stroked her cheek with a regretful expression, as if it was unfortunate that they were headed somewhere. If they weren’t, his touch suggested he might have undressed her on the spot.
Leaning against his chest, Ephinia panted. She couldn’t avoid guiding, but when they did it like this, the effect on lowering his wave was minimal, and she wondered if it meant anything.
‘It just makes my heart race for no reason…’
It felt like her guard was softening.
Meanwhile, Kasselard looked satisfied as he pressed another kiss to her lips. This time it was soft and gentle, and her heart felt endlessly…
‘What am I even doing right now?’
He’s such a weird Transcendent. Normally, when someone’s waves had accumulated to that level, the pain would make them focus on guiding rather than pleasure. She had already thought he wasn’t in his right mind when he insulted the Guide he had struggled to find…
‘It’s still at 792…’
Since that day, he had been avoiding deeper contact for some reason. It was still far from 300, and he should have been suffering, yet he only kept smiling.
At least there was one good thing.
Because they kissed often, his waves were gradually improving little by little.
‘Should I really just tell him to stay the night?’
As she glanced at him while lost in thought, Kasselard, who had been staring intently at her face, suddenly began showering her with kisses.
“Ha. What kind of expression is that? Hmm? What are you thinking?”
“I-It’s nothing.”
“It’s not nothing. You look like a sulky puppy. Makes me want to bite you.”
She was already in his arms, but his hold tightened painfully, pressing their bodies together. When she tapped his arm in discomfort, he loosened slightly, but their bodies were still pressed close.
“Ah, I really want to bite your cheek…”
“No.”
“I’ll erase it with magic.”
“I don’t like pain.”
“I can bite gently so it won’t hurt. Hmm? Just a little.”
As he whispered softly, kissing and licking her cheek, Ephinia looked troubled. He would heal anything that might hurt from too much friction, but he didn’t want to remove kiss marks or bite marks.
“You’re not going to erase it anyway.”
