Chapter 80
He shot Ephinia a sullen glance.
“…Can you handle it?”
“You’re the one who has to handle it, Your Highness. I’m just a Baroness, and you’re the Crown Prince.”
Ephinia replied with wide eyes.
She wasn’t wrong. She wasn’t wrong, but… how annoying. The funny thing was that even in this situation, she still looked cute to him.
Do you even know for whose sake I’m holding back?
But the reason Ephinia wanted to be with him was probably for the sake of guiding. To fulfill the condition set by Her Majesty the Empress. Because she wanted to leave his side.
When he thought that, his head turned cold, yet his body burned from being pressed against her. It was unbearable.
Even so, Kasselard caught the hand that was still idly touching his waist. Then he lowered his head and brought his face close. When their eyes met at such close distance, Ephinia blinked as if she felt pressured.
“You’ll let me take responsibility, right?”
“Rather than responsibility… this is just a duty.”
Same thing.
Kasselard deliberately let out a scoffing breath with a sulky expression. If she was going to say that much, he couldn’t help but take responsibility. After all, he was the one who wanted to bind her to him, one way or another.
“Fine. I’ll handle everything. Just don’t regret it later.”
She opened her mouth to answer his whisper, but her reply was swallowed by Kasselard’s lips. His hand was already pulling her nightgown off, and her face flushed hot.
Anyway, this would bring his waves down to 0. At this point, Ephinia was still certain of that.

‘Even with three Guides, their level of guiding is only this much.’
After crossing the border of the Karnan Empire, they could no longer travel by flying with summoned beasts. Karnan, which wasn’t a friendly nation, didn’t permit the delegation of the Nabel Empire to ride summoned creatures through its skies.
So they had no choice but to travel by carriage and use the warp gates within the Karnan Empire. The Karnan side had been reluctant to even allow them to use the warp gates, but they had been forced to choose between summoned beasts and warp gates.
After all, they had brought a Guide that the Karnan Empire desperately needed.
Jeremiah gazed at the capital walls that had begun to appear in the distance, anticipating what kind of woman Ephinia, the A-Class Guide, would be. He had heard rumors about Agnes, the S-Class Guide, and had secretly approached her to receive guiding once.
But perhaps their compatibility had been poor, because it had been less satisfying than the guiding he already received from his own Guide.
‘This woman might be different… They say her compatibility is high even with that notoriously difficult SS-Class Transcendent.’
Their goal was, ultimately, to take that woman away from Kasselard. The Karnan Empire must not possess a Transcendent superior to those of the Nabel Empire.
Karnan already possessed more Transcendents than Nabel, and the same was true for Guides. Aside from Ibella, Nabel had no S-Class Guides, and in the first place she was a fake anyway. That was why their current plan to use this ‘S-Class Guide’ in a political marriage under the pretense of diplomacy would invite considerable suspicion.
But no Transcendent could refuse the guiding of a high-level Guide. If they deceived Kasselard by any means and made him discard his current Guide, then bound him to Ibella, that would be enough.
In the meantime, they intended to steal the Crown Prince’s Guide. If it seemed she wouldn’t come over to their side, they were even prepared to kidnap her or eliminate her.
Kasselard de Rutinerus’s Guide must not exist in this world.
Since killing him was impossible, they would drive him into ruin by erasing his Guide from the world instead. That was the only way for the sake of the Nabel Empire.
‘There must never be a Transcendent stronger than me in this world…’
Jeremiah was an S-Class Transcendent. He took immense pride in being the strongest Transcendent, and he believed that as the Crown Prince of the Nabel Empire, that was only natural.
But he couldn’t tolerate Kasselard, another Crown Prince who possessed a rank higher than his own.
If the world had created Jeremiah de Hirdenan, then Kasselard must be erased.
There must not exist anyone stronger or superior to Jeremiah himself.
He just had to be the strongest man in the world.
