Chapter 24
What the…?
I turned my head slightly to look up at him. His strong, masculine jaw was clenched as if he had made a firm decision.
“What are you doing?”
He was unpredictable. As I looked up at him with a concerned gaze, I could feel the grip around my waist tightening.
Then, in an instant, Ian shot off at an incredible speed.
Crash-!
Holy sh*t, It was as though a rhinoceros had charged through, but it was his bare body slamming straight into the glass window.
This crazy b*stard! The situation happened so suddenly that I couldn’t even scream. His large hand covered my face and then disappeared, revealing the vast garden of the Duke’s residence stretching out before me.
“Young master?”
The servants who were peacefully tending to the garden, as usual, all stared at Ian. The madness in his face, coupled with his furious rush, caused them to freeze in shock. In the distance, I could hear the desperate cries of the Duke and Duchess calling his name, but Ian was indifferent, rushing through the garden without looking back.
The servants, who had been momentarily stunned, finally began to move at Helith’s command to chase after him.
“Young master, where are you going?”
“I’m worried you’ll hurt your feet! Please step on my back and run instead!”
Ian ignored their frantic calls. He swept aside the servants in his path, clearing them away with swift motions, like clearing cobwebs in front of him.
If you’re going to do something crazy, do it alone! Why the hell are you dragging me into this? I have no idea what kind of brain this guy has that leads to random chase scenes like this.
After running for a while, he darted into a shabby gray brick building. The place was thick with the stench of age and neglect. The sunlight streaming through the broken window revealed the dust floating in the air.
It looked like a storage room, with fabrics wrapped in translucent plastic, various farming tools, and old furniture scattered around.
“What the hell are you doing, stopping our meal halfway through this morning?!”
As I was about to shout, Ian quickly covered my mouth and adjusted his posture.
Leaning against a stack of plastic bags piled high as a barricade, he pushed my body between his legs and pulled me close from behind. I could feel his chest, pressed against my back, rising and falling roughly.
“Shhh,”
he whispered in my ear, his head down.
No matter how hard I pounded my fists on his arm, twisted his waist, and squirmed, his rock-hard body didn’t budge. He was alone, like filming an espionage movie, focused on the movement behind him.
“Eleven o’clock, multiple hostiles closing in. Four, no, five unarmed adults.”
“hmphmd, hmardm!”
“Incoming reinforcements, same direction. Get down, they’re coming this way.”
Every time he gave me a report that didn’t leave me wondering. His hot lips rose and fell against my auricle, inch by inch. I couldn’t stop thinking about his hard body, rippling with muscle, the flesh of his back rubbing against mine.
He’s a man!
A sudden realization slapped me upside the head. Have I ever had such skinship with a man? I didn’t even have to recall anything to come up with an answer.
I’ve never been held like this, not even by my dad!
Who am I?
I am Yoon I-Young, the only child of Yoon Jae Chun and Choi Yi Sun, a couple rumored to be a lovebird couple. My parents showered me with more affection than necessary to keep my blood affection levels high.
But I was the one who didn’t bat an eye. I’ve been asking my parents to sleep separately and politely declining kisses since I was a little girl. I was called an ‘unaffectionate daughter’ and told that my parents were sorry for me, but I didn’t bat an eye.
I had done this to myself though, and my body had never learned to feel the warmth of another’s touch, having been through middle school, high school, and elementary school.
And now, for the first time in my life, I was in the arms of a stranger. Instantly, goosebumps broke out from my head to my feet. I squirmed in discomfort, but instead of letting go, Ian pulled me closer.
