Chapter 11
“I apologize.”
But the gaze he held while looking up at Cecilia was sincere.
“I committed a great offense against you yesterday. I am truly sorry, Cecil. If you were displeased, you can formally protest to my family. I will compensate you sufficiently without harming your honor.”
“…….”
“But, if you weren’t displeased….”
Rogerick paused to catch his breath. Then he raised his bowed head.
“I want to take responsibility for what happened last night.”
He was tense.
His green eyes trembled. His lips were so dry he kept tucking them in.
‘…He must have married in the original story in a similar way.’
Considering his completely senseless state last night, it was obvious without even seeing it. He would have felt a sense of responsibility even if it was a mistake with a woman he didn’t know.
Cecilia, who had been silently looking down at Rogerick, changed her posture.
She bent one leg and rested her arm on it. Rogerick, whose gaze had inadvertently dropped with her movement, flinched and averted his eyes. From before, through the unbuttoned, open shirt, it looked like he could see past her white skin to her private parts.
Cecilia smiled faintly and asked.
“Is this a marriage proposal right now?”
“…Yes.”
“Hmm, do people these days just get married right after sleeping together?”
“Oh, there are people who don’t. But in principle….”
“I’m one of the people who don’t, Rogerick.”
Rogerick’s eyes widened. Cecilia smiled slightly at the sight.
‘How easy.’
She thought he had come to Erdel with a gentle childhood memory. But Rogerick seemed to be quite serious about Cecilia.
This was good.
“Rogerick.”
Cecilia leaned her body toward him, resting her hand on the bed. Her b*****s dropped heavily with gravity. The open shirt barely covered her areolae and n*****s.
Rogerick’s eyes wavered like waves.
“Even if the woman who entered your bedroom last night wasn’t me, you would have made the same vow.”
“Cecil.”
“No matter what you say, our reunion is completely tangled up because of your drinking habit.”
“…….”
“And I’m not a fool who stakes her life on a happenstance committed while drunk.”
“That’s……. You’re right.”
“We’re on the same page. Good.”
Rogerick gave a bitter smile. Only then did Cecilia move away from him a little and fold her arms.
“So, Rogerick, prove it.”
“…….”
“Prove to me how great you are as a suitor, so I want to choose you.”
Cecilia, whose lips were curled up in a smile, was above Rogerick.
The moment she confirmed his feelings, she was the one in control of this relationship.
She had to use every card she had. It didn’t matter if it was pure-heartedness or lust. Besides, exploiting a naive youth was easier than a piece of cake.
“So, you’re giving me a chance right now?”
Just as she predicted, Rogerick eagerly took the bait.
‘Ah.’
Where did his childlike, bewildered face go? A calm, burning gaze appeared.
Cecilia swallowed a bitter laugh inwardly.
He was a Holy Knight, and just like a person who holds a sword, he had a strong fighting spirit. She thought she had picked up a small, innocent animal, but it turned out she had taken in a beast’s cub.
‘It was the same when I took in that child.’
But she had never been in a s****l relationship with that child. He was the only person she treasured purely and completely.
‘So, he’s a different person. Get a grip.’
This wasn’t the time to be lost in useless memories.
“Yes, Rogerick. Show me properly.”
How useful you are as a man, and that you can save me.
Rogerick’s eyes, who didn’t know the words that were deleted at the end, shone with a burning passion. The man, seething with lustful desire, slowly approached. He kissed Cecilia’s long, silver hair.
“…I promise, Cecil.”
He inhaled deeply, as if smelling a scent.
“I will never let go of the chance you’ve given me.”
***
It was quite some time later when the two people came out of the room.
With Rogerick’s help, Cecilia was dressed in a similar manner to when she had arrived at the party. Her completely undone hair was loosely tied in a half-updo, and she had a hair comb pinned on her left side.
But she didn’t look like a neat lady. The subtly stray hairs and the slightly crooked knot of her dress made people imagine what had happened last night.
Rogerick was no different. His particularly loose cravat and his messy, uncombed hair made him look like a man who had rushed out after having an affair.
“Cecilia, are you really okay without my support anymore?”
Rogerick, who had escorted Cecilia down the stairs, looked full of worry. Cecilia shook her head and let go of his hand, which she had been holding tightly.
“I’m fine. More importantly, please look into what I asked you to.”
“…Alright. Don’t go. Just wait a little.”
“Okay.”
Cecilia’s face, which had been smiling gracefully like a noble lady, twisted the moment Rogerick disappeared down the hallway.
‘Ha, what’s wrong with this body?’
