Chapter 14
Then, he abruptly grabbed Cecilia’s arm. The strength was so rough it felt like her arm would snap off. The coachman started to drag Cecilia towards the shack.
“I’ve never seen such a pretty woman! If I sell you separately, the money will just pour in!”
The coachman began to drag Cecilia like a paper doll. She tried to resist, but it was useless. The difference in strength was shockingly large.
‘Damn it, I unconsciously thought based on my old body.’
At this rate, she wouldn’t even be able to counterattack. Cecilia’s face twisted.
“No, no! Let go of My Lady!”
“Margaret!”
A suddenly rushing Margaret hit the coachman’s head with her hard travel bag.
“What is this?”
“Aahk!”
But when the coachman swung his thick arm once, Margaret was sent flying, bag and all. Margaret rolled on the ground. The bag also fell far away.
“Honestly! Just lie there! I’ll come get you later!”
The coachman clicked his tongue as he looked at the fallen Margaret, then gave a menacing warning to Cecilia, who had her head down and was trembling.
“You’d better not resist, My Lady, or you’ll have a hard time.”
The moment he looked forward, Cecilia’s trembling stopped. She raised her downcast eyes.
With cold eyes, she quietly pulled out the hair pin she had in her hair. The tip of the comb-shaped pin gleamed sharply.
Holding her breath, Cecilia closed the distance by one step. Just before the coachman turned back at her approach, she accurately plunged the hair pin into the jugular vein on his neck.
“Hukk!”
With a sharp cry of pain, the coachman let go of Cecilia. Cecilia pulled the hair pin right out.
“Gahk!”
Blood spurted out like a fountain. But it wasn’t enough to kill him instantly.
Cecilia wasn’t flustered. She had already expected this. If she could stab the artery on the other side of his neck before he turned back…!
“You… how dare you…!”
‘Damn it!’
It was too late.
The coachman, who had twisted his body to get away, clutched his bleeding neck and glared at Cecilia. His bloodshot eyes were bizarrely sharp.
“You b***h, you damned w***e…!”
“Aahk!”
The coachman lunged at Cecilia. With his large body, Cecilia fell backward. It was a disadvantageous position.
Cecilia immediately punched the coachman’s philtrum. It was accurate, but her strength was far too weak. The coachman grabbed both of her arms with one hand, immobilizing her.
“Euk!”
The coachman threw the blood-soaked hair pin from Cecilia’s hand.
“To hell with the money, you’re going to die here.”
It was the moment he raised his fist with a ferocious expression.
“Keok!”
With wide eyes, a gush of blood spurted from the coachman’s mouth. He trembled and then fell with a thump onto Cecilia.
In the clear view she had, she saw Margaret, who was holding her bloody hand and trembling.
“…Margaret.”
“O-oh, My Lady…….”
Cecilia barely managed to push the coachman off her and get up. She hurriedly looked at the fallen coachman. The hair pin was stuck in the other side of his neck.
It was close to the artery; a decent skill.
“I, I, I killed… I killed a man….”
Would a person’s face look like that when they were on their way to hellfire? Margaret’s face was deathly pale, and her hands were shaking uncontrollably.
Her eyes, full of fear and despair, met Cecilia’s.
Cecilia knew those eyes very well. And she knew that this would be an irreversible moment for Margaret.
If that’s the case.
“Margaret, look closely.”
It’s better for the dirty hands to get dirtier.
Cecilia approached the coachman. She looked down at the man who was lying there with wide, glazed eyes, twitching his hands and feet.
‘…How unfortunate.’
She had promised to do anything to avoid a terrible tragedy, but that didn’t mean she wanted to live the same life as before.
But was there such a thing as a predetermined fate? Cecilia had no choice.
Cecilia gritted her teeth and pulled the hair pin out of his neck in one swift motion. A gush of blood burst out.
“Kyaak!”
The coachman’s convulsing body went limp. Cecilia squeezed her eyes shut once. That was all. She was used to the smell of blood.
Hah, she exhaled and roughly wiped the blood from her face. Then she looked at Margaret.
“I’m the one who killed this man.”
“B-but…….”
“So don’t think about anything. Don’t feel guilty. You just saved me. That’s all that happened today.”
“…….”
“Can you understand that, Margaret?”
