Chapter 18
“What about the people? What are we going to do with the people?”
“That…….”
It wasn’t like they could get rid of living people. But if they took them back like this, the Holy Knights who were here would bear all the responsibility.
“We’re done for! We’ll be kicked out of the Holy Knights!”
Jamie tore at his hair and yelled in anguish before looking down at Pavel.
“Why don’t we, why don’t we ask Lord Rogerick for help?”
“What?”
Pavel’s face immediately crumpled.
“Lord Rogerick might help us!”
Jamie desperately grabbed onto Pavel.
He might be right. Rogerick was different from boastful nobles like Lord Ryan. He was the one who first told them not to use honorifics, saying that all Holy Knights were equal.
But asking for a favor would hurt Pavel’s pride.
“No, I don’t think even Lord Rogerick would cover this up.”
Given his upright nature, he would think that finding the culprits was the most important thing.
It was half an excuse and half the truth. Fortunately, Jamie and the other Holy Knights seemed to be convinced.
But they still had no idea how to handle this situation. It was as Pavel was biting his nails.
“How about me instead of him?”
A strange voice was heard.
The voice itself was deep, but the tone was cheerful.
However, the man’s expression was extremely intimidating.
His pitch-black hair came down to his nape. His long, sharp, slanted eyes held a hint of a sneering laugh. He was an incredibly handsome man, but he was so overwhelming that she didn’t realize it for a moment.
Based on his natural appearance, he looked like a high-class noble, but his outfit and the aura he exuded seemed to be the complete opposite.
The way he was leaning against a tree with his arms crossed, the accessories hanging extravagantly over his dark-colored three-piece suit, and even his earrings.
It was too flashy for a refined nobleman, and his expression looked more like a back-alley thug than a man of culture.
“Tha-that man…!”
Jamie pointed a finger at him.
“That’s the man I saw yesterday! The one I was just about to talk about!”
Jamie, who was about to go wild, quickly touched his mouth. He seemed to be scared for some reason. Pavel’s gaze, which had been watching his colleague’s eccentric behavior, turned back to the man.
“Oh, I see, a perverted fucker I’ve met before.”
He gave a light laugh. It was a charming sight that would make anyone, even those who didn’t think of the man in a s****l way, pause for a moment.
“Let’s stop the small talk now.”
But why did it feel like a warning?
The man straightened his body from the tree. With his hands in his pockets, he walked toward them.
His shadow fell over Pavel. Pavel unknowingly swallowed hard. Cold blue eyes fixed on him.
“So. Do you want me to help, or not?”
“…….”
“No, should I ask again?”
The man, who had been rubbing his chin for a moment, grinned.
“Do you want me to rat you out to the temple for trying to bury that asshole, or not?”
That was a question that essentially left them with no choice.

“Lady Cecilia! The carriage, the carriage is here!”
Margaret, who had been standing at the window staring at the main gate since morning, stomped her feet as she looked at Cecilia.
At the sight of her dedicated staff member so excited, Cecilia closed the book she had only been holding open. Her head was still throbbing, but she didn’t show it.
“Alright, let’s go down.”
“Just a moment! Let me do a final check!”
At times like this, Margaret bossed Cecilia around as if their difference in status didn’t exist. Cecilia, who had been about to get up, stayed in her seat, quietly enduring the hands that touched her hair and tidied her clothes.
‘Of all things, that kind of terrible dream again…….’
The reason Cecilia was in such a poor state was another nightmare she had last night.
The son of her former boss, Jo Yun-soo, appeared in her dream again.
Yesterday’s dream was from her childhood. As if curious about the child who had come to live in their house one day, the bastard always lingered around Ju-yeon.
He’d often be stuck to her door, as if listening in, and there were several times when she had opened the door without knowing and almost broke his nose.
Then, when her former boss found the strange doll Jo Yun-soo had suddenly left in her room.
“We’re all set, My Lady! Shall we go down now?”
She was beaten to within an inch of her life for her bad habit of ‘stealing’ things.
‘I wonder if he knows now that it was his father who gave me those bruises around my eyes.’
In any case, it didn’t matter now.
Cecilia stood up. The reflection in the mirror showed a beautiful and delicate woman. No one could ever imagine that this woman’s past was so violent and terrible.
Today, she liked that quite a bit.
