“Do you not want to?”
“Yes. Well, it’s not that I don’t want to go with you, Your Highness. It’s just that the library is boring. Of course, you enjoy going there.”
Hearing Reno’s words, I nodded. There are always people who like libraries and those who don’t.
If I weren’t a reader like Nepheli, I probably would have hated it as much as he does.
These days, I don’t have the time to properly sit down and read, so I haven’t read much lately, and it’s a bit embarrassing to call it a hobby, but…… well, reading is one of my few hobbies, along with drawing.
“Also, um…… no. I’ll come with you, Your Highness.”
Reno, with a troubled expression, rubbed the back of his head and nodded.
“If you don’t want to, you can stay here. There’s no need to go together.”
“As your guardian, I can’t not follow you.”

I passed by them without much thought and entered inside.

Someone who seemed to be the librarian bowed as he saw me.
The librarian, who had been acting like he was about to greet me, suddenly froze and raised his head.
After checking our faces, he closed his mouth and suddenly pretended to be busy, turning away.
‘He checked our faces and then stopped the greeting?’
If he had just ignored us from the beginning, I would have thought it was normal, but the way he acted made me feel uncomfortable.
“Your Highness.”
“Yes?”
“Is this how they usually are?”
Reno asked me. But what was surprising was that I didn’t know either. I wasn’t sure myself.
However, seeing Reno’s reaction, it was clear this wasn’t normal. I also thought it was strange.
Nepheli was a princess. To stop greeting a princess and then ignore her—how could that happen?
Not knowing how to respond, I remained silent, and Reno whispered to me.
“Shall I teach those rude ones some manners?”

“We could challenge them to a duel for disrespecting you, Your Highness. That should teach them a lesson, don’t you think?”
His smile was bright, but his words were sharp.
Would he really go that far just because they didn’t greet me?
No, wait, this is a hierarchical society, so it might be a bigger issue than I thought.
“Or I could tell Isaac and have them all replaced.”
That also didn’t seem like a great idea.
‘But does Isaac really have that kind of power?’
They had ignored the princess right in front of them. Isaac is a knight of that princess, and yet he has the power to do that?
Suddenly, I remembered seeing Isaac’s title in his profile—it said he was a Duke.
Still, is it true that a Duke has more influence than a princess?

I frowned at the alert.
‘If I get kicked out of the library, I’ll also fail the quest I accepted earlier.’
And if I fail, the characters’ suspicion levels will increase, leading to a higher chance of a bad ending.
‘That would be troublesome.’
Even though the librarian’s attitude bothered me, my priorities were clear.
I needed to complete the quest.
I shook my head.
“Forget it. Let’s just read the book and leave.”
“If that is Your Highness’s will.”
Reno, who had seemed ready to tear the librarian apart just moments ago, instantly became calm.
