Chapter 183
I forced my voice to remain calm as I spoke.
“That’s enough. Thank you.”
Stepping slightly away from Reno, I turned to look at him. Now that I could see him properly, he was dressed in his usual neat uniform—every button fastened meticulously up to his neck.
‘Normally his uniform looks a bit loose and carefree……. What’s different today?’
His unfamiliar appearance puzzled me. Sensing my gaze, Reno touched his collar and smiled.
“Did Isaac adjust it? Does it look strange?”
“I was just curious. I’ve never seen you wear it like this before.”
“I heard Your Highness prefers things tidy.”
“Me?”
“Is that not true?”
“Not particularly……?”
As long as it wasn’t distractingly messy, I didn’t mind some casualness. In truth, Reno’s usual “messy” style just meant leaving his collar slightly undone.
“Besides, you’re tidy enough as you are.”
“I think this is the first time I’ve heard that from you.”
“Really?”
Just as I gave an awkward smile, my eyes met Reno’s. The seriousness in his gaze made my smile fade, and the tension I’d momentarily forgotten came rushing back.
“Your Highness.”
Reno’s voice was low, almost tickling my ear with its quietness.
“Would you undress me as well?”
After hesitating, I gave a small nod. When I reached out, Reno bowed his head. Since his uniform seemed similar to Isaac’s, it shouldn’t be difficult.
As I removed his jacket, I could feel his rapid pulse beneath my fingertips. Next came his tunic-style shirt. To remove it, I’d have to slip my hands underneath and pull it up…….
After a moment’s hesitation, I carefully slid my hands under the fabric. His firm, well-defined muscles surprised me—even though this wasn’t my first time touching a man’s body.
“Sorry.”
“Why apologize?”
“For touching you without asking……?”
“It’s fine.”
When I tried to pull my hand away, Reno caught it and gently pressed it against his abdomen.
“Your Highness can touch me as much as you like.”
Everything felt scorching—his large hand covering mine, the heat of his body beneath my palm.
“You’re welcome to continue.”
His whisper, meant only for me, was strangely alluring. The seductive murmur flustered me. He was so forward—completely different from Isaac.
Then I realized something, the more he set the stage, the harder it became for me to endure.
I quickly withdrew my hand. Reno didn’t try to stop me, letting go easily.
“L-let’s wash up first.”
Blurting out the first thing that came to mind, I hurriedly put distance between us. Even I could tell I was rambling awkwardly. Thankfully, Reno didn’t call me out on it.
Moving hastily to the bath, I debated whether to remove my already-loosened dress before deciding to just step in as I was.
I knew it defeated the purpose of having Reno untie it, but with him behind me, I couldn’t bring myself to undress completely.
As I stepped onto the bath stairs, the waterlogged hem tangled around my ankles, making me stumble.
“Ah—!”
Just as I squeezed my eyes shut, bracing for the fall, a strong hand caught my arm.
“Are you alright?”
“Th-thank you.”
You can let go now…….
As if hearing my thoughts, he released me. Rubbing my slightly sore arm—from how tightly he’d grabbed me—I turned away.
