Chapter 204
The warm, pliant sensation felt wonderful.
I braced against Reno’s firm shoulders, then let my hands wander down his arms and elsewhere—exploring him just as thoroughly as he explored me.
The rising heat made my breath grow ragged. Letting out a satisfied sigh, I pulled Reno into a tight embrace, and he reciprocated in kind.
“Haa…….”
His hot breath tickled my shoulder, and his slightly long hair brushed against my skin.
As I glanced sideways at Reno, who had buried his face against my shoulder, I stealthily touched his ear. Lightly tapping at first, then tracing the curve—making him twitch repeatedly.
“You’d be better off…… not doing that.”
“You were the one who said I could touch them later.”
“That’s… true, but…….”
Reno exhaled something between a sigh and resignation. Clearly, he hadn’t expected his own words to circle back on him like this.
“I’ll go easy.”
“I’d really prefer that…….”
Though it sounded pleading, the unspoken threat in his trailing words was obvious. If I didn’t restrain myself, I would be the one suffering.
As much as I loved being held in Reno’s arms, I couldn’t fully relax when our safety was still uncertain.
After a few more teasing strokes along the curve of his ear, I finally withdrew my hand.

The next morning, we prepared to leave the inn at daybreak. We didn’t need to buy additional provisions—thanks to the innkeeper, who had packed us food supplies from his own stock, along with portable meals for the road. Knowing Killis was a mage, he seemed especially relieved and went out of his way to prepare generously.
While Isaac and Reno went to fetch the horses, Killis cautiously approached me.
“Your Highness, may I speak with you briefly?”
“……?”
His sudden request, after staying silent all this time and choosing a moment when the others were absent, naturally made me suspicious.
“Is it a long conversation?”
“No. I simply wish to teach you magic—if you’re willing, that is.”
“Magic?”
I was slightly startled.
“Didn’t you say before that it wasn’t possible?”
“Correct. But seeing how effortlessly you wield dimensional magic without any adverse effects, I believe it may be safe to instruct you in some basics.”
This was an unexpected turn.
If I’d known revealing my inventory would lead to this, I might have let him find out sooner.
“But if Lord Isaac finds out… he won’t just worry…….”
“So you’re suggesting teaching me in secret?”
“Precisely.”
Isaac would undoubtedly forbid it—going so far as to interfere or separate me from Killis if necessary.
“I understand. I’m fine with it, but…… is it feasible during our travels? Avoiding Isaac and Reno’s notice won’t be easy.”
“That’s why I propose waiting until we reach the elven village. I simply wanted to confirm your interest beforehand.”
Now I understood why he had approached me while the others were away.
Given how often I’d wished for magic, I agreed readily. Pleased with my response, Killis promised to prepare gradually.
Not long after our conversation ended, Isaac and Reno returned. We mounted our horses and resumed our journey.
About half a day later, fatigue began weighing on me despite having rested well at the inn.
Wondering how I could already feel so drained, I had no choice but to ask Reno:
“Didn’t you say it would take about three more days to reach the elven village?”
“Correct. That should be all that’s left.”
Three days…….
It felt simultaneously short and agonizingly long. Without Reno’s spirit guiding us efficiently, the journey could have taken far more time.
After a brief rest, we set off again. Unsurprisingly, the road ahead proved rough—we faced several more ambushes.
The only silver lining was that the attackers no longer used magic-disabling mediums, having apparently exhausted their supply. This allowed us to fend them off more reliably.
Yet the repeated assaults left us on edge. The constant threat kept our nerves frayed.
‘Of course—how could we relax when death keeps looming over us?’
