One was “Lublin,” and the other was “Rakaius.”

They were indeed colossal and powerful, with sturdy, sharply protruding horns, enormous bodies, and wings vast enough to cover the sky. Their scales were hard yet solid and beautiful.

The strong beings argued, claiming that each was the origin of the other. Whenever they moved, the vast earth shook as if an earthquake had struck, and the places where they breathed fire continued to burn for a year without extinguishing.

From the scales that separated and entered the sea, sirens sang with beautiful voices, and from the claws that fell into the volcano, dwarves with remarkable skills emerged. The teeth that fell to the ground became humans.

The forms of the two omnipotent beings were such that even the elves, conceived by the World Tree, feared them yet longed to serve them.

After a long battle, it was Rakaius who was exhausted. In the mist created by the clash of his desperate breath and the river, a ‘giant’ was born. They fought together, but ultimately, they were defeated.

Lublin called Rakaius the evil dragon and sealed him at the roots of the World Tree, alongside the giants, entrusting the elves to guard the area.

Rakaius’s anger and hatred trickled weakly out of the seal.

The elves guarding the seal were affected by this influence, their skin darkening, and they began to call themselves dark elves.

……They said it was a myth, but I really didn’t expect it to be an actual myth. I was itching to cover it up even now.

‘But I should read it.’

There must be a clear reason why the system pointed this out as a quest to read.

The fortunate part is that the book includes illustrations, and there are many familiar non-human beings like elves and dwarves, so it isn’t too boring.

‘Speaking of which, the World Tree is here too? Is the worldview inspired by Norse mythology?’

I don’t really know much about Norse mythology, but…… I had no problem understanding it, so I continued to read intently for over a hundred pages.

However, the book still contained only praises for the primordial dragon Lublin and anecdotes about how powerful and beautiful it was.

Just when my patience was wearing thin, I came across a passage that piqued my interest.

[……The primordial dragon, who had been looking down at the world from the branches of the World Tree, felt bored one day. Curious about the lives of lesser beings, he decided to create a game for himself.

He would sneak into the world of humans and live their lives.

He called this ‘play’, and the moment his true identity was revealed to a human, he would return to the branches of the World Tree and cast a magical binding spell to keep himself from coming out for over two hundred years.

Disguising himself as a human, the primordial dragon joined the army of a human king and fought in wars. With his exceptional physical abilities, he quickly rose to the pinnacle of the military and became the king’s most trusted knight.

He stood in a position that everyone admired, but everything felt mundane to the primordial dragon.

‘The human world is the same.’

As he contemplated ending his own game, he encountered the princess of a fallen nation. The princess’s existence was faint, but her turquoise eyes, filled with will, shone brilliantly.

For the first time in a long while, the primordial dragon felt a strong interest in a life that was truly alive.]

“It’s amusing that you refuse to bend despite having nothing to boast about. Where does your pride come from?”

“I have nothing to say to the commander of an enemy nation.”

“How can something so trivial be so lofty? You probably have nothing to share. Isn’t your goal to rebuild your homeland?”

The princess didn’t respond, but the primordial dragon understood that her silence was an answer.

“The king of this country promised me countless riches and honors. What can you promise me?”

“Do you even have such power?”

“Don’t you know? My will is the military strength of this nation. If I give you the sharpest and strongest sword, what will you offer in return?”

“My everything.”

“Do you really think that means anything to me?”

“Of course it does. Isn’t your answer found in your actions? If it doesn’t satisfy you, you can just kill me.”

It was ridiculous stubbornness. Yet, strangely, he found himself drawn to the princess of the fallen nation. He kissed the back of her hand and swore.

“Very well, princess. I will grant you the world. But in return, as promised, you will be mine.”

After that, the primordial dragon Lublin, true to his word, helped the princess establish a new kingdom, which was described as the Kingdom of Lublin.

It was also noted that the affectionate name he gave her, “Evgenia,” derived from her turquoise eyes, became the title for the ruler of the Kingdom of Lublin.

He did his utmost to assist the princess, now Evgenia, but when he laid an egg, his true identity was revealed, and the game came to an end.
