I wanted to nod along with Reno’s muttering, but I held myself back.

“Then we have no choice. We’ll have to use an alias.”

“An alias?”

“Yes. You can still call us by our names as usual…… only Your Highness’s name would change. So, what would you like to be called?”

Having never really thought about it, I paused for a moment to consider.

If it were more like a game username, I’d quickly come up with something funny, like “PrincessBunnyAndGrandpa.” But since it had to sound like an actual name, this was proving tricky. (t/n: the username refers to a popular internet meme related to gamers who quickly consume all game content.)

‘Using my real name would be odd, wouldn’t it?’

Yes, definitely odd. Not that there’s anything strange about my actual name, but Isaac and Reno would probably find it unsettling. Plus, it wouldn’t align with the purpose of an alias, which was to attract less attention.

After much deliberation, I finally spoke up.

“How about Thea?”

“It sounds nice. But why that name?”

“Because it has a pretty ring to it.”

Though I brushed it off as a simple choice, it was actually a name I’d put some thought into. Thea was derived from “Lactea,” meaning “Milky Way” in the language here.

The name felt fitting, as the “Eun” in my original name, Min Eun-seo, carried a similar sound to “Eun-ha-su” (Milky Way). Of course, I couldn’t explain that to Reno and Isaac, so I simply brushed it off as I had.

“It’s a choice that suits Your Highness.”

Reno said with a small smile. Hearing that made me curious about how Reno viewed me, but before I had the chance to ask, he was already speaking to Isaac.

“Isaac, you don’t have any objections, do you?”

“Not if it’s an alias.”

“Great. Then let’s head out. If we want to see even half the capital today, we’ll have to keep moving.”

Could we really manage half?

I wondered lightly as we stepped outside the palace. Touring an entire kingdom’s capital was no small feat.

It certainly wouldn’t be accomplished in a day or two. But with a time limit to keep, I’d have to focus on the most essential parts.

……So, technically, this mission was meant to be a low-profile quest.

“Eat up, Thea. Try this one, too.”

Piece after piece of fruit kept finding its way into my mouth, most of it cut into small, bite-sized portions.

Some were familiar, others were new to me, but they were all sweet and tangy, making it hard to refuse a few bites.

After a while, though, Reno seemed to have taken to it as a game, constantly feeding me more fruit. I was already getting full, not being one to eat much in one sitting.

“That’s enough. Really, I’m full.”

“What? But there’s still so much left for you to try!”

“Right! With such a fine young man taking care of you, why not have a bit more?”

Chimed in a merchant, who had apparently grown quite friendly with Reno. Perhaps it was the magic cloak, subtly dampening their awareness, but he seemed especially comfortable around Reno. Not that it was surprising, considering Reno had been buying fruit non-stop in front of his shop.

“Seeing him dote on you like that is nice. Are you two lovers?”

“Haha, yes, we are. Do we look good together?”

“Perfect match!”

With a sly smile, Reno wrapped his hand over my shoulder, prompting the merchant to raise a thumbs-up in enthusiastic approval.

Considering the effects of the magic robe and cloak, they shouldn’t have perceived us so clearly, yet here he was, singing our praises…….

Ah, the teary-eyed flattery of good old capitalism.

“You should try this one the young man just handed over—it’s really tasty!”

“Yes, Thea, just this last one.”

“Well…….”

Just as I was about to open my mouth, though, Isaac abruptly seized Reno’s hand, intercepting the piece of fruit. And then—he ate it himself.

“Oh my goodness! That scared me!”

“I-Isaac?”

Why was he eating that……?

“Didn’t even realize there was another young man here! How long have you been there?”

Exclaimed the merchant, equally taken aback. Though, unlike me, he was shocked for entirely different reasons.

Normally, Isaac’s appearance made it impossible not to notice him, but now, with his looks concealed, even his presence seemed to fade into the background.

“If you wanted some, you could’ve just asked. Why snatch what was meant for Thea?”

“Aw, don’t be so harsh. Maybe this young man just really wanted a taste of my fruit.”

“Oh, is that so? Well, if that’s the case. Here, have another.”
