Chapter 41
As if sleep itself was overwhelming her, her eyelids drooped shut, and just before they closed, a loud noise erupted and a message appeared.
Rewards will be granted!
Just as Cynthia came to her senses, the dense rose-colored mist had completely dissipated.
She slumped forward, her legs soaked through with all the fluids that had poured from inside her, and Segleninde scooped her up and carried her outside.
Even after coming to her senses, Cynthia could not lift her head for a long moment.
The moment the mist of aphrodisiac smoke cleared, her mind returned. The system had restored her feelings of shame and humiliation, and realizing that she had climaxed repeatedly, and all because of Segleninde, made her want to die on the spot.
“Are you coming around?”
At that moment, Segleninde had brought Cynthia back to the dressing room.
He spoke to Cynthia as she crouched in a corner, but she could not bring herself to look at him, her cheeks still flushed a deep crimson.
Even if she died, she would simply return to the statue holding a sword, and the key was already in her inventory. She had just completed the quest, so dying now and returning to the start would be utterly inefficient. Yet, in her heart, she wanted to die immediately and erase Segleninde’s memory of her.
“…Sia. Look at me.”
Segleninde had moved before her, lowering himself to sit beside her.
Crouched and shielding her body, Cynthia peeked out from under her arms to glance at him. He appeared as if cleansed by magic, but upon seeing his face, she remembered how she’d dirtied his lips with the fluids she’d shed… and her cheeks turned even hotter.
Segleninde gently lifted Cynthia’s face with surprisingly mild strength, regarding her reddened cheeks as if he were truly admiring them, then suddenly smiled.
“You’ve been whining so long I hadn’t noticed. You have your cute side after all.”
“Shut up. Go away.”
“What is there to be ashamed of? Lovers, and fiancés especially, have surely done much worse.”
Segleninde traced the back of Cynthia’s hand with his fingertips. Seeing his long fingers, their bones pronounced, memories of him thrusting them inside her struck Cynthia anew, bringing tears to her eyes.
“…Fine. Just get me some clothes to wear.”
“I’ll look, but don’t get your hopes up. There might happen to be some women’s clothes mixed in, but predominantly there’s only men’s wear.”
Realizing again that Cynthia was completely naked, Segleninde stood.
Watching his retreating form as he walked to the wardrobe, Cynthia gathered her long red hair to cover herself. A long sigh escaped her lips.
Then Segleninde returned and tossed a large coat over her.
“I’m giving this to you so you won’t start coughing and make a racket. Wear it.”
And he turned away again.
Cynthia slipped her arms into the sleeves of the coat he had given her. His coat was so large that it wrapped fully around her body. Sighing, she folded her knees and sat, curling her toes awkwardly.
Could this really be the monster that tore people apart, ground their bones, and so on? She felt a growing sense of dissonance.
Although he’d lost his memory, he seemed to know she was human. And yet he made no move to kill her…
Was it truly only because of his affection level? If so, that was fortunate, but recalling the game’s story only underscored how very different this Segleninde was.
