Chapter 44

Now that they had the key to the Spring Flower Garden, they could enter the second floor.
All the creatures on the first floor have been dealt with, so there should be no problem getting to the second floor. However, weary from what happened in the Second Banquet Hall and the Dressing Room, Cynthia suggested they rest for a while before setting out, and Segleninde readily agreed.
They each claimed a sofa and lay down.
“Ah, that reminds me of something else.”
“W-What is it?”
Why was he recalling memories so quickly? Cynthia asked anxiously.
Segleninde, lying on the sofa directly opposite her, furrowed his brow as though trying to count something, then said,
“Was it on the third floor? There should be a marital bedroom, right? Have you and I ever used that room?”
“…There’s no such room.”
Fortunately, it was nothing serious. Cynthia answered with relief, and Segleninde muttered as if disappointed.
“If we’d done that, I’d have assumed we’d used it.”
“…I’m telling you again, we’re not married yet, just engaged. Who in our noble circles would do something like that while still only betrothed?”
At least according to what ‘Cynthia Obel’ had been taught, that was the case. In this strictly conservative noble society, even light physical intimacy between unmarried lovers was avoided.
If it ever became known that a man and woman who weren’t married had engaged in such acts, both their marriage prospects would be ruined—just as if he’d been toying with your intimate parts with his lips and fingers, the scandal would be that severe.
Segleninde’s expression went flat, then suddenly, as if struck by a good idea, he sneered at Cynthia.
“Surely you’re not claiming you’d already done all these things long ago and now you’re lying about losing your memory? Although, since we did that earlier, I guess in a way we’re already like husband and wife. For a pair who aren’t, you seemed to enjoy it quite a bit. If we tried it again, your perspective might change, let’s see…”
“Doing something like that…!”
Unable to stand his constant nonsense any longer, Cynthia bolted upright.
“…It was my first time!”
Segleninde snapped his mouth shut.
Seeing his eyes go wide with surprise, Cynthia snapped back onto the sofa and turned her back to him within two seconds.
It was no lie. In truth, Shin Sia had no s****l experience. She’d been busy with studying and part-time jobs since she was a minor, and even when she became a university student, nothing really changed. After getting a job, various men had made advances, but she’d been too busy just to make a living, and they were clearly only interested in her body, so she’d long since brushed them all off.
There was simply no way she’d had that kind of experience.
“I see… So that makes me your first man?”
A faintly amused voice sounded. Since she was past caring how far his ‘affection gauge’ might have risen, Cynthia chose to ignore his teasing.
Segleninde silently took in the sight of Cynthia’s turned back, her long red hair cascading in big waves, and noticed her ears, now slightly more flushed than before.
