Chapter 65
***
“Damn tentacle bastard…”
The first thing she saw when she opened her eyes again was her Current Location.
Cynthia was lying flat on the neatly trimmed grass. Right before she lost consciousness, her whole body, from head to toe, had been messily drenched in the fluids the tentacles had splattered all over her, but now, she was not only clean—her hair and skin were even glossy and shining.
Considering she had passed out after being assaulted by those tentacle creatures, her body was in perfect shape. Not only that, she actually felt refreshed, as if she’d just gotten a deep, restorative sleep.
She hadn’t been penetrated, nor was she injured—maybe that was something to be thankful for.
Cynthia let out a sigh, stretched, and sat up. As she did, a large shadow loomed over her head.
< Heeheeheehee! >
The merchant crone was standing by her head, looking down at her.
Rather than startled, Cynthia felt a bit glad to see the old woman and got to her feet.
She had just checked the money that came in as a reward for completing the quest. It wasn’t exactly a pleasant feeling, having received money as compensation for being toyed with by a tentacle, but since she had it now, she might as well use it for herself. That would be good for her state of mind, too.
“Could I take a look at your wa— Oh.”
Before Cynthia could finish, the old woman abruptly held something out to her—a small vial.
When consumed, all physical abilities are slightly improved. You won’t tire easily and will recover quickly. – Special VIP Customer Service from Clara’s Shop –
So the old woman’s name was Clara. Cynthia learned something new.
“…Thank you, ma’am.”
< Heehee! >
Leaving the grinning crone behind, Cynthia uncorked the potion and drank it down. It was sweet, with just a touch of bitterness, as it slid down her throat. Her hoarse throat, worn out from all the moaning, was moistened and her thirst eased.
After tossing the empty bottle into a corner of her inventory, Cynthia examined the box the old woman was now offering with visible excitement. Unlike last time, there were different items this time.
[ Fox Mask ] [ Succubus Lingerie Set ]
: Use to extract all the blood from a particular target. 29 Luven.
: When worn, hides your appearance from everyone for about 10 minutes. 78 Luven.
: Makes you capable of seducing anyone. Even those who are already seduced. 45 Luven.
All of them looked useful, but unfortunately, Cynthia didn’t have enough money to buy any of them.
However, the mask seemed absolutely necessary.
If she could avoid being seen by creatures, it would make the way up to the Third Floor much easier. She was still wearing no bra and no panties, so her n*****s chafing against the fabric was starting to hurt, and she wanted underwear, but judging from the name, it was probably useless—just for show.
While Cynthia hesitated, she put her mind to work.
“Um, could I buy on credit? Ah, you remember the man I gave you the brooch for last time, right? He’s the owner of this mansion and my fiancé. If you mention my name, he’ll pay for me.”
Seeing the crone’s face turn serious for a moment, Cynthia quickly spoke faster. But once she mentioned Segleninde would pay, the old woman broke into a wide grin.
<Hee! Heeheehee! Heeheehee!>
“So it’s okay? Then I’ll take that.”
She pointed to the Fox Mask in the box. The crone quickly snatched it up and handed it to her.
Once Cynthia accepted the mask, the old woman pulled a battered notebook from her clothes, jotted something down, and left. Cynthia assumed it was her tab being recorded.
Only then did Cynthia have a chance to inspect the mask.
