Chapter 80
In the end, Cynthia lost consciousness about twice before coming to.
Her memory was patchy and fragmented. There were things that surfaced in her mind, but every one of them was just scenes of s*x.
She’d been lifted and held in Segleninde’s strong arms while he moved inside her, bent over the table next to the bed and taken from behind, and had even ridden on top of him herself, moving on her own, only for him to say he couldn’t take it and pull her wrists, thrusting up into her himself.
She couldn’t even tell if they had really gone at it for six whole hours, but when Cynthia finally managed to open her hazy eyes and come to her senses, the door to the cabin was slightly ajar.
Cynthia wanted to curse at Segleninde, but she simply had no energy left, and her throat was so hoarse it was hard even to speak.
Too exhausted, she tried to fall back asleep without moving from the bed, but just then, Segleninde, who seemed to have gone somewhere and come back, tapped her cheek to wake her. She opened her eyes, a bit annoyed, only for a sweet, cool stream of water to flow into her mouth.
“Drink. Your throat was hoarse, but you’ll feel better soon.”
As if it wasn’t all his fault, giving her the poison and the remedy.
Even though her heart disagreed, Cynthia’s throat was so dry that she swallowed it down greedily. After she’d finished drinking, Segleninde, looking satisfied, wiped her lips with his own, then pulled a chair close to the bed and sat down.
No matter how much time passed, it was always night in the garden, and the sound of insects chirping could be heard. Amidst that, Segleninde’s voice blended in.
“…Your real family, the one you talked about before. Once everything’s settled, I’ll find them for you.”
Cynthia wanted to open her eyes, but her eyelids were too heavy, so she listened with them closed. His pleasant, quietly flowing voice brought up an unexpected subject.
“That much isn’t difficult. It might take a little time… So you have to keep being my fiancée, too.”
Segleninde reached out and awkwardly brushed her hair.
“Don’t be afraid of me. Just stay by my side. I didn’t let you die. I’ve kept my promise, haven’t I? So you keep your promise, too.”
As he started to withdraw his hand, he paused, listening to her steady breathing, and brushed his lips against hers.
“…We’re going to be husband and wife anyway.”
Even as he said it himself, it was a statement that seemed to resonate deep in his chest.
Cynthia, sleeping, moved her lips as if they were ticklish, and when his fingers brushed her palm, she gently grasped them. She trusted him completely now. Even asleep, she looked so defenseless and dear, with not a hint of tension left.
“What a fool.”
So small and lovely, yet with no sense of caution, so timid and soft-hearted that if left alone anywhere, she seemed like she’d die right away.
He wanted to make her cry with joy every day, to listen gladly to her sharp words, and to have her look at him with flushed cheeks. He wanted to bite and suck those plump lips all day until they swelled, and if possible, her sweet, nectar-filled entrance too.
Segleninde smiled quietly.
“Yeah. Sleep a little more. I’ll carry you out when it’s time to go.”
Segleninde kissed Cynthia’s cheek, then waved his hand to extinguish all the lanterns.

“Mmm…”
Deeply asleep, Cynthia opened her eyes at some point.
Her arms and legs felt languid, and there was a dull ache below her waist. She frowned at the sensation, then noticed Segleninde carrying her on his back, and looked up in surprise.
The scenery around them had changed. The dark Moon Flower Garden was gone, and instead, a brightly lit corridor stretched out beyond Segleninde’s head.
While she was taking that in, Segleninde seemed to notice she’d woken up and spoke to her.
“You’re awake?”
“Uh, yeah. Where are we?”
“Third floor. When I carried you out of the cabin, I found a key lying outside, so I opened the door with it.”
