Chapter 82
Before long, they arrived at the rest point located at the center of the third floor.
Recalling how hard it had been to secure the rest point on the second floor made her almost tear up with regret, but her goal wasn’t to secure every rest point in the mansion—it was to escape, so she decided to focus only on reaching the Fourth Floor.
However, the door to the room was locked. Hanging from the doorknob was a wooden panel that required a password to be entered by combining numbers.
“Oh, right. To get in here, you have to wander around the third floor and find the hints…”
It was just as Cynthia got that far in her explanation—
Crunch!
Segleninde, adjusting his hold on her with one arm, grabbed the wooden panel on the doorknob and twisted it right off. The door creaked and swung open on its own.
“……”
“When are we going to look for hints? You look like you’re about to collapse from exhaustion, and I’m ready to rest too. Isn’t this more efficient? Don’t you think?”
So if you’re strong enough, you don’t even need to use your head. Cynthia realized a new fact.
“Yeah, good job, Sellie. Good job, you did well.”
“Oh, come on, don’t treat me like a kid. Or else…”
“Or else what? You’ll kill me? You’re going to say you’ll kill me?”
“When did I ever say that? Why do you keep picking fights! Should I just go dump you back at the cabin?”
Despite his words, Segleninde’s entire face was flushed red. Even as he glared at Cynthia for patting his head like a puppy, when he reached the giant bed at the center of the rest point, he gently set her down with surprising care.
“Just get some sleep there or something. I need to go wash off at least, with all this damn blood stench from those bastards.”
“Ehh, but didn’t you already clean all the blood off with magic? Are you running away by any chance…”
Bang!
Before Cynthia could finish teasing, Segleninde darted into the bathroom as if fleeing.
Even from inside, she could hear him cursing for a good while, so Cynthia rolled around the wide bed clutching her stomach with laughter. He had definitely run away. There was no trace left of their tryst—everything had been thoroughly cleaned—so he really had no reason to take a bath.
If it hadn’t been for the circumstances, she would have happily savored this thrill. Cynthia stopped rolling and buried her face in her hands.
It was a relief Segleninde couldn’t see her blushing.
“God, I actually did it…”
She couldn’t stop the laughter from leaking out.
Of all people, it was with Segleninde, the very character she’d cursed as a dreadful murderer every time she saw his face on the game’s main screen before she transmigrated into this world. And with him, she’d really had s*x. He was her first.
Cynthia let out a silent scream and rolled around the bed again. She couldn’t tell if she was embarrassed or just excited. Honestly, it had been difficult, but it also felt so good.
As things went on, Segleninde lost control a bit too, but whenever she said it hurt, he would stop and check on her. They held each other a lot, and kissed a lot too. She kept remembering the sight of Segleninde’s face, blurred in her hazy vision.
He would look down at her so affectionately, giving a faint smile, ask if she still hurt, and then, even as he started moving again, remain cautious and gentle. His long silver hair tangled with her red hair, the two of them clinging tightly together and sharing each other’s heartbeat.
Cynthia’s face heated up again.
“…I must be crazy.”
There was no longer any need to guess at Segleninde’s favorability. If they’d gone so far as to have s*x, it meant it was maxed out.
But maybe it wasn’t just Segleninde whose favorability was affected.
She didn’t hate kissing him either.
‘…If Segleninde knew this, he’d be happy too.’
“……”
But suddenly, her thoughts went cold.
Even if the favorability was maxed out, would his feelings really survive once the truth came out? He might just get angry and accuse her of deceiving him.
In the end, she was nothing more than a fake clinging to him for survival.
A liar.
That fact would never change.
