Ivonne remained unfazed by the crude and base provocation.

She hadn’t been able to weave the barrier tightly, having spread it wide and prepared for the impact of the lightning strikes. The sharp rain fell, drenching the faces of Ivonne and many others.

With her pink hair now wet from the rain, Ivonne calmly spoke.

“You mentioned the wrath of someone who returned from death?”

Despite the torrential downpour and countless lightning strikes, her green eyes, filled with the vibrant energy of midsummer, glowed with anger under the clear autumn sky.

There was something so chilling and fearsome about her that Celestia felt as if she was facing ‘nature’ itself. This fear was unique to Celestia alone. It climbed from her feet, freezing her blood and stealing her voice.

“….W-What?”

Celestia, who had been laughing and shouting moments before, now stood frozen. Her black eyes fixed on the formidable enemy before her.

Ivonne spoke in a clear voice to the terrified Celestia.

“I’ll return those words to you. Watch closely.”

“Ah!”

In an instant, Ivonne was right in front of Celestia. There was no time for Celestia to react.

“Huh!”

Celestia’s shoulder was firmly grasped, and Ivonne forcibly turned her around. Despite staggering, she couldn’t resist the force and turned to see…

“B-Blit-zen…”

Amidst the numerous corpses, there stood Blitzen with a stern expression. His face was pale, and his fists were clenched as he stared solely at Celestia—at her true self.

Blitzen was soaked to the bone, indicating he had been standing there for quite some time. In that moment, Celestia felt her mind reel. She had shown her ugly side in front of Blitzen, who loved beauty and strength.

‘What should I do? He will surely be angry with me. No, maybe he will be happy to know how strong I am.’

Celestia, ignoring the countless innocent lives she had taken, only thought about pleasing Blitzen.

Ah, what a dreadful and blind love. As a reader of the original story, Ivonne knew well how twisted Celestia’s love and desire for Blitzen were.

“Your beloved has come to pick you up. But what will you do now? Because of your crimes, you can no longer go to him.”

The whispering voice was chillingly sweet.

‘Because of your crimes.’ It was ironic that only when Celestia saw the grim look in Blitzen’s blue eyes did she finally realize the enormity of what she had done. Though there wasn’t a drop of blood on her hands, the hands that had stolen the life force of so many felt filthy and reeked of death.

“It wasn’t me. I didn’t… I mean, it was all…”

Celestia tried to explain, but at that moment.

“Look over there! The Emperor’s army is coming!”

“They’ve come to save us!”

The distant sight of the Emperor’s carriage, drawn by four majestic horses, filled the air with the sound of hoofbeats.

Signaling the end of Marquisate Cyand.

In fact, the scene of Celestia attacking Ivonne, the ancient wizard, was being broadcast to the Emperor, Arnold, as if on a television screen, with sound quality so clear.

― I’m the tower master… an ancient wizard. Do you realize how grave… a crime it is to harm me?

Ivonne’s fragile voice and Celestia’s venomous words were transmitted without a single bit of interference.

Arnold, stroking his chin with an expression of great interest, thought to himself.

‘At first, I was truly surprised.’

The imperial palace was protected by a powerful magic that ensured no harm could come to the Emperor. Additionally, this protective magic concealed the Emperor’s exact location, making it nearly impossible to send a magical transmission directly to him unless it was cast right beside him.

‘An ancient wizard, indeed…’

A nearby wizard hurriedly checked the magic flow and was astonished to find that the one broadcasting the scene was none other than Ivonne, who was confronting Celestia.

This revelation caused another wave of surprise.

‘Truly remarkable.’

To be able to see events happening in another location in real-time through a square window floating in mid-air—this was a testament to the power of an ancient wizard. Once again, he felt the awe-inspiring might of ancient magic.

However, a question nagged at him.

‘Why….has Marquis Cyand never shown me anything like this?’

After all, Arnold had an ancient wizard among his closest advisors as well: German. Yet, German had never provided him with such joy or assistance in this manner.

An insidious sense of inferiority stirred within Arnold, who lacked the Emperor’s eyes and the ability to become an ancient wizard.

‘Has he been deliberately hiding this from me?’

Surely, if German was also an ancient wizard, he could perform such magic with ease. It was hard to believe that Ivonne, who had awakened to ancient magic 20 years later, could surpass German in skill.

Therefore, only one conclusion remained.
