Chapter 11
The emperor’s near-pathological obsession with the heroine, hinted at in the original, is already so blatant. Kiss marks, after all, usually signify a possessive act.
It was only yesterday, her second meeting with the emperor. Her first encounter, on the day she entered the palace, involved the emperor, his knights, his aide, and the Duke, his close friend. It was merely a formal introduction, leaving little impression on the indifferent emperor. Her attention, however, was captivated by those handsome men.
So, yesterday was practically her first real meeting. Why, then, this insane possessiveness, inflicted upon this body she inhabit? Could it be her looks?
Lysei stared intently at her reflection.
‘No, I don’t think so.’
According to the book, the emperor’s first love is a cute, adorable woman with pink, wavy hair and mysterious blue eyes.
Lysei, the woman she inhabit, possesses dazzling silver hair and striking teal eyes, a mix of blue and green. She’s beautiful, but lacks the adorable charm.
‘Or maybe the aura is due to the soul within. My original personality was far from sweet, rather sharp-edged. And that damned badger Baron left me painfully thin.’
In any case, the heroine the emperor falls for and her are drastically different in appearance. This madness isn’t about her looks.
So, what switch was flipped, leaving her in this state?
“Ugh…”
What does it matter? This ravaged body won’t revert, no matter how much she search for a reason.
“Ouch…”
Every step sent a searing pain between her legs, forcing Lysei to walk slowly, legs wide apart, in a strange gait.
Knock.
Suddenly, a deep, calm voice sounded from outside the door. The refined quality suggested the emperor’s knight.
“Are you awake?”
“Yes!”
Her reflexive reply was followed by the door bursting open. Lysei was n*ked, her body mottled with the livid marks of the emperor’s frenzied attentions.
Trey’s eyes widened in shock at her response. He quickly shut the door, presumably to prevent anyone outside from seeing inside. Few would dare to look into the emperor’s chambers; his swift action confirmed his innocence.
Trey, one of the original novel’s male leads, was a pure, younger man who dedicated his affections to the heroine. True to his character, he was flustered by Lysei’s nakedness, quickly turning away.
“I apologize…!”
His usually calm, deep voice was laced with panic.
Lysei, unconcerned about her nudity, looked around for something to cover herself. She wasn’t embarrassed, but she worried about shattering the pure young man’s composure.
However, the enormous room and her aching body made finding clothes impossible. This wouldn’t do.
“Um… Sir.”
She decided to ask for his help.
“Speak.”
“I can barely walk. Could you find me something to wear?”
Trey, instinctively closing his eyes again at the sight of Lysei’s nakedness, quickly turned.
“Yes, please wait a moment.”
He walked towards the bed, eyes still closed.
‘How will he find clothes with his eyes shut?!’
But her worry was unfounded. Instead of clothes, Trey brought a thin blanket from the bed and draped it over Lysei, his eyes remaining firmly shut.
Lysei felt a mischievous impulse.
“Thank you. Could I ask one more thing?”
“Anything.”
“I’m finding it hard to walk. Could you carry me to my room? I want to bathe, but it seems disrespectful to bathe in His Majesty’s chambers.”
“Ah, His Majesty gave orders. You are to bathe and dine here, and not leave this room.”
Lysei’s face instantly hardened.
The emperor’s hobby in the book was obsessive confinement of the heroine. The heightened level of suffering was all thanks to that damned emperor.
‘But wasn’t that limited to the heroine…?’
‘This son of a b*tch, why is he trying to subject me to his sick confinement?’

Lysei sat on the emperor’s sofa, nervously tapping her feet and biting her nails. The ornate clock on the wall showed it was past nine.
She hadn’t left the room all evening. She ate and bathed here, attended by five maids who washed, cleaned, applied ointment to her sore areas, and dressed her.
“Am I going to be stuck in this room until my departure?”
This scene wasn’t in the book.
In the original, Lysei is beheaded by a royal guard because the Empress reveals she’s an omega a few days before the heroine’s arrival.
