Chapter 25
Edin’s lips trailed down her waist, branding a kiss on her thigh. His hand, which had been wrapped around her waist, slid lower to her hip, the other following suit, delving between her thighs. Realizing she was about to be taken again, Lysei grabbed Edin’s wrist.
“I’m hungry.”
She wasn’t particularly hungry, but since Edin had mentioned they’d never eaten together, she figured he might prioritize a meal over interc0urse.
Her gamble paid off. Edin sat up, pressed a tender kiss to her temple, and drew the covers over her. He then snapped his thumb and forefinger, summoning someone outside the door.
“You called, Your Majesty.”
‘This summoning thing is still so weird,’ she thought, ‘but I guess the people outside have some magical tool to hear the Emperor’s faintest sound. Thinking too hard about it will only give me a headache.’
“Prepare a meal. And a bath.”
“Yes, Your Majesty. I shall see to it immediately.”
“Ah, and…”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
“Inform them that Zerga is forbidden from entering the main palace today.”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
It seemed Edin had deliberately skipped work today, and was now barring Zerga from the palace to avoid his inevitable nagging about the day’s events.
‘Ugh… this child.’

The table set for the Emperor held three times the amount of food she usually had when dining alone in his bedroom.
‘Is it really necessary to have this much food for just the two of us? People here must not fear food waste. But… he said he wanted to eat together. Isn’t this a bit… too far apart?’
They sat facing each other at the incredibly long table, so far apart that it was difficult to hear each other.
“Lysei, is nothing to your liking?”
‘Well, I can hear him, but…’ Lysei had been picking at familiar dishes, unsure of what anything else was. The Emperor, who had been sipping a green drink and hadn’t touched his food, noticed this.
“Ah… no. It’s delicious.” She spoke loudly, hoping her voice would reach him at the other end.
“Tell me if there’s anything you desire.” Edin spoke in his usual low baritone, yet his voice carried as if he were right beside her.
“This is plenty.”
“Very well.”
‘Isn’t dining together supposed to involve a table of reasonable size, where you sit close enough to share a dish, and your forks might even touch?’ she thought. ‘I really can’t understand what kind of “dining together” this is.’
‘A handsome face is handsome even while eating, and I was hoping to enjoy the view, but sitting this far away, even with good eyesight, I can’t see his lovely lips as he chews.’
Lysei poked at the noodles on her plate and muttered to herself, “I would have preferred eating in the bedroom…”
“We shall do so this evening.” Edin replied instantly, as if he’d been waiting for her to say it.
Lysei blinked in surprise. Edin cleared his throat and said, “I thought you might dislike it if we didn’t do proper etiquette for our first meal together.”
‘If this ridiculously long table, with us sitting miles apart and feeling like I’m alone, is etiquette, I’d rather have none of that etiquette.’
“Not at all. I’d much rather be close enough to admire Your Majesty’s handsome face.” She blurted out the unfiltered thoughts from her mind.
Edin abruptly stood.
“Let’s go back.”
‘…Huh? …Go back where?’
“Have the meal brought to the bedroom.”
Though the distance was considerable, Edin quickly reached Lysei’s side and took her hand.
“I’ll give you what you want right now.”
“But, I’m already eating…”
“Let’s go back, Lysei.”
Edin’s almost childish insistence, cutting her off mid-sentence, forced her to stand. Her eyes widened as she saw the prominent bulge in his trousers.
‘Wait, what just happened? Did we even say anything that would warrant that while eating?’
Despite the absurdity, the fact that Edin was lvsting after her was undeniably pleasing.

“Haa…” Lysei’s pleasant mood evaporated the moment they returned to the room. As soon as the door closed, Edin dipped his head and captured her lips. His arms tightened around her waist, pulling her close with a breathless urgency. The hard length of him pressing against her abdomen sent a wave of heat through her.
His tongue, wet and yielding, invaded her mouth. Since they’d left mid-meal, a faint sweetness lingered on his lips, likely from the green drink.
‘It seemed like some kind of vegetable juice, so I didn’t try it,’ she thought, ‘but if I’d known it tasted sweet, I would have.’ Lost in such frivolous thoughts, she surrendered to Edin’s deep, sensual kiss.
He drew in and lapped at her tongue with a ravenous hunger, as if he hadn’t eaten in days. She could no longer distinguish her saliva from his.
