Lysei’s entire body trembled visibly as she clutched Theor’s arm, struggling to speak.

“Lysei, what is it?” Theor asked again, drawing her into his arms and soothing her.

At Lysei’s heartfelt plea, Theor nodded. He explained that he couldn’t leave right now because of the shadows and Trey, asking her to wait just two hours while he calmed her.

He knew Edin wouldn’t stay still once he realized Lysei had vanished without a trace. He’d already been to the Rose Palace twice today; suspicion would undoubtedly fall on him. He had even asked Edin for Lysei, making suspicion unavoidable.

Theor ordered his servants to clean the secret chamber, unknown to anyone else, and furnish it with food and books.

He decided to wait until Lysei felt better before asking why she was so desperate to leave. However, he soon discovered the reason for her desperate plea, thanks to a communication from Zerga.

“Well, I should be asking you that. Hasn’t Sir Trey said anything?”

“He says nothing happened, which is driving me crazy. Where could she have disappeared to?”

“Maybe she went for a walk.”

Zerga started to speak then stopped, causing Theor’s eyebrows to rise.

“What about Edin and this Nyxna?”

“They were sleeping in the same bed, naked.”

“They claim they don’t know what happened either. The problem is, Miss Lysei didn’t know about it. It’s strange that she disappeared without knowing.”

“Maybe she found out.”
