“You can’t just come and go as you please, saying you want to come in and then saying you want to leave!”

“S-Sir…”

“Why, another absurd excuse about being harassed? Huh? Look… Kang Sung-wook, you’re an adult, aren’t you? Can’t even stand up for yourself as an adult? Then how do you expect your parents to face this?”

“…”

Sung-wook couldn’t bring himself to say anything in response.

Although the words were aggressive, there wasn’t a single incorrect statement.

Talking to the homeroom teacher like this would only prove his own incompetence.

“Do you understand? Once you set foot in the academy, there’s no way out except through graduation. Otherwise, you might just receive support and then drop out to join a guild. Understand that much.”

The homeroom teacher, as if there was no need for further discussion, left the office with the luggage he had prepared in advance.

“…”

Sung-wook sat there, shaking his head, lost in thought.

“So… how could things possibly get any harder?”

Seonghyun inwardly let out a deep sigh.

After class, he was reluctantly called in only to be asked to heal a friend.

‘…What kind of nonsense is this?’

The homeroom teacher’s request was simple.

He just asked if he could treat a friend who happened to be injured.

‘Are they at the hospital?’

Recalling his difficulty in answering even such a simple question, it was clear that going to the hospital was not an option for this person.

“Um… Student Kim Seonghyun? If you could treat my friend, perhaps there will be no more pain, and we could offer some compensation…”

“If you could just explain why they can’t go to the hospital, I’ll consider it positively.”

“T-That’s… R-Right! They’re being chased by someone, that’s why!”

As expected, there seemed to be no intention of giving a straightforward answer.

“I’ll consider it. Can I go now?”

“Y-Yes, of course. Be careful on your way back, and let’s meet tomorrow.”

The homeroom teacher stood up gracefully, smiling, and accompanied Seonghyun to the classroom door.

“I’ll be looking forward to good news tomorrow!”

As Seonghyun exited the office, he let out a deep sigh.

“Haah… to think this guy is my homeroom teacher.”

Unable to manage the people around him well, he couldn’t even distinguish between what should be said and what shouldn’t.

“He needs a demotion to come to his senses.”

With a bitter expression, Seonghyun clicked his tongue and left the academy building, then called Inhwan.

“Hello? Is it over? What did the homeroom teacher say?”

“Well, nothing surprising. Someone asked for healing.”

“Tsk, I had a feeling. Still the same teacher huh? So, did you agree to it?”

“Of course not.”

“Good move. So, what’s the plan for today? Are we going to the gate…”

Seonghyun couldn’t focus on what Inhwan was saying next.

The eerie sound coming from right outside the academy building made him drop his phone from his hand.

As always, sounds that didn’t fit the location usually meant something tragic was happening, and this time was no exception; it was undoubtedly a tragedy.

“Eeek!”

The screams of other citizens echoed, and people immediately started making phone calls somewhere.

“What… the hell…”

Seonghyun confirmed with a blank expression what had fallen right beside him.

It was an unbelievable sight, one that was hard to accept.

The grey concrete floor was gradually being stained red, and with each extension of that crimson hue, it became increasingly easy to anticipate what might unfold.

“Oh, crap!”

Seonghyun immediately rushed towards the fallen person.

Their face was facing the ground, making it unclear who it was, but considering the events that had unfolded so far, it was easy to speculate on their identity.

“Please…!”

Seonghyun quickly reached for their neck.

“He’s not dead.”

In the past, it might have been challenging, but Seonghyun now possessed more developed abilities.

“Hold on, just a little longer.”

The gaze of the bystanders around was a concern, but in the current situation, Seonghyun’s mind was not occupied with such things.

There was a person collapsing right in front of him, and Seonghyun had the ability to save them.

He immediately focused his mind.

While it was the first time he had attempted to heal such a serious injury since his abilities evolved, the person hadn’t lost their life yet, so it should be possible.

“Ughh…”

As soon as he focused his mind, an overwhelming pain surged through him, so intense that he couldn’t even speak.

It was the kind of pain that might have caused him to lose consciousness if he didn’t possess the ability to remain determined.

“What’s that person doing?”

“Is he a doctor?”

Some people looked at Seonghyun suspiciously, but he didn’t hear them.

“Argh… Please…!”

His hands, which had been steady until now, began to tremble uncontrollably.

The excruciating pain was so overwhelming that it felt like his body and mind were breaking apart.

Despite his abilities, the magnitude of the pain was incomparable to anything he had experienced before, and he felt as though he might lose consciousness.

“There! Step back!”

The ambulance had arrived, and paramedics rushed to Seonghyun’s aid. However, their calm demeanor and steady breaths indicated that interfering with Seonghyun wasn’t the right course of action, unlike in situations where assistance was needed.

“It’s almost… over.”

Sung-wook was in a critical condition, with broken bones piercing his internal organs. If he wasn’t rescued immediately, there was little chance of survival. However, the paramedics simply stood there, staring blankly at Seonghyun and Sung-wook.

“What is he…”

“What’s happening to that person…”

Despite witnessing it firsthand, the sight was unbelievable.

Sung-wook’s wounds, which had been bleeding profusely, had already been closed, and his broken bones had miraculously realigned themselves.

“Argh… haa…”

Gasping for air, Seonghyun collapsed to the ground, barely able to remain seated.

“Ar-Are you okay?”

“Shouldn’t we check on this side’s condition first?”

“Oh, uh, yes!”

The paramedics lifted Sung-wook’s unconscious body into the ambulance and approached the other.

“It might be best for you to get checked out too…”

“I understand.”

To also check Sung-wook’s condition, Seonghyun was loaded into the ambulance.
