Chapter 27
* * *
After returning home for the first time in a week, Lucian received a report from Benjamin about what had happened that day. Having been away for a long time, sand fell in small showers from his shoes and clothes.
As Benjamin skillfully cleaned him up and took the garments, he reported the current situation.
“I heard the other Master is still in the Madam’s bedroom.”
“Hm.”
“What shall we do?”
Now naked, Lucian sank into the bath that had been prepared in advance and considered for a moment. He and the other man had always divided their time, each monopolizing Elaria during their own hours. And yet this time, the other had openly crossed into his time.
Still, he thought he understood why. He likely couldn’t tolerate the way she was still so easily looked down upon. Lucian didn’t think differently.
“…First, withdraw the investment funds from Baron Silvaris’s business.”
“Yes, Master.”
“Hm… since we’re doing it, it would be better to make the warning clear.”
“As you wish, Master.”
“Withdraw the entire investment, and make sure the Baroness learns of Baron Silvaris’s affair. That much should be enough for them to lose interest in their second daughter who has already married out.”
“Understood.”
He had known that the volume of letters sent to a daughter who now belonged to another family was far from normal. They belittled Elaria as slow and stupid, yet seemed unaware that they themselves depended on her.
That was only because Elaria had tolerated their behavior. The Baron’s family had always irritated him, people too foolish to understand how precious it was to have someone who would accept everything they poured out. That was why he had hidden all the letters that came for her.
That was how groups worked. Especially in noble society, there always had to be someone to fall behind. They would mock and ridicule that person like an example, all while being consumed by fear that they themselves might be the next to fall.
And so, when the one who had occupied that position was no longer there, they began to look for her without realizing it.
Of course, Lucian had never seen Elaria that way. She was a reliable and thoughtful companion who stayed quietly by his side, and a lovable, precious lover.
“And that woman needs to be properly corrected. To think she didn’t even greet my precious wife.”
“Is there anything else you would like me to prepare?”
“No, I’ll handle it myself.”
“Yes, Master.”
He had thought since childhood that Elisa’s insolent nature would become a problem. Until now, it had been hidden behind Elaria, but now that it would be exposed, there would be plenty to make use of. It would be troublesome if she continued to think Elaria was an easy sister to exploit.
After organizing his thoughts, he washed away the traces of his long absence. He finished with the perfume he always wore, then put on a robe.
Then he moved toward the secret passage between the Duke’s room and the Duchess’s room, a passage Elaria still didn’t know about.
The closer he came to her bedroom, the more the wet, heavy sounds echoed. He quietly opened the door and looked inside. The room was dim, and only silhouettes were visible. He entered without a sound, but the other him, Noctis, noticed immediately.
Meeting the gaze that flew toward him, Lucian approached the bed and stood near their heads. Slap, slap. The sound of Noctis’s hips striking against her a*s echoed plainly.
Noctis gripped her hips tightly as she lay collapsed forward, her upper body limp from exhaustion, and let out a damp breath.
“Haa…”
Even so, he didn’t take his eyes off Lucian. From the twisted curve of his mouth, it was clear how irritated he was. Lucian sat on the edge of the bed and slowly stroked the back of her head as it swayed weakly.
“Not unconscious yet.”
Noctis spoke without a subject, but Lucian looked at him without concern. The night was his time. The one who had trespassed had no right to interfere.
“Lu, Lu…”
Elaria murmured in a dazed state, then closed her mouth again. It was the result of not being allowed to call his name throughout their coupling. Seeing her like that, Noctis stretched his lips in a long curve, while Lucian raised one eyebrow slightly.
“Huu, damn.”
He lost.
Noctis cursed and began thrusting mercilessly. The pale flesh of her hips in his grasp was already flushed red, crushed tightly in his hands.
Thud, slap, thud, slap. Each time his pelvis struck her, the sound of flesh hitting flesh rang harshly. Veins bulged along his forearms as he pulled her body toward him and drove himself into her at the same time.
Her inner walls, ravaged since the morning, yielded like overripe fruit, yet still clung tightly around him. Noctis lifted the corner of his mouth savagely and dropped his weight down as if to drive himself in to the very hilt.
“Ahh!”
At first she had been unable to take him fully, but now she swallowed him to the base and seemed to draw him in even deeper. The firm spot inside had been struck so many times that it now softened, wrapping around the tip.
