“Hnh! No! Ah! Ray!”
He dragged me roughly into the inn room, ripping my clothes the moment we stumbled inside. I screamed.
My small bundle of goods from the general store flew across the room, landing with the sound of something breaking. “Hey, you! That was bought with my hard-earned money… Ah!”
Reynard sank his teeth painfully into my neck. The stinging sensation was far from the gentle touch from earlier.
“You were always like a shimmering mirage, just out of reach.” He pressed me against the wall, his voice a wounded animal’s growl. “I kept thinking… if I became just a little stronger, I could reach you. If I did what you wanted, if I defeated the Demon King like you asked, then maybe… maybe I could have you. That’s all I ever thought about.”
“Ray…”
“I could just leave it all behind and go, but I feel like such a fool for hesitating.”
Bang! His fist slammed into the wall beside me, the force so strong it cracked the wood.
“I thought having the title of an Imperial noble would make it easier to stay by your side, but it’s only chaining me down! It’s infuriating! And the memory of how I groveled like a worm, even though their intentions to use me were so obvious… the fact that I can’t bring myself to abandon the title makes me feel like trash!”

“Adelina.” He was a man as solid as a mountain, a man so large… “Please, can’t you love me?” His trembling emerald eyes were like those of a lost child. I reached up and stroked his hair.
“I already love you a lot, Reynard.”
I love your strength, your unwavering will even when life drags you through the mud. I love your infuriatingly playful nature and your effortless confidence. You always seemed more mature than Seikan or Helion, who were born into high nobility, but behind that strength, you have this vulnerable, childlike side too. Regret washed over me for not having seen the softness beneath his prickly exterior.
As I gently caressed his cheek, filled with a tender ache, Reynard let out a hollow laugh and clicked his tongue. He brushed my hand away. “I don’t need that kind of… pity.”
“Who’s pitying you, you giant… Hnh!” With a single arm, he effortlessly lifted me. His other hand slipped beneath my skirt. I hadn’t yet had the chance to put on the new undergarments I’d bought, so I was completely exposed to his touch. “Re- Ah!”
My startled gasp was cut short as I was pressed against his hard chest. The pressure was almost suffocating. His thick fingers pushed directly into my sensitive c*re.

It was overwhelming, even though it was just one finger.
“Adelina… I love you.” Despite the pleading tone of his voice, his touch was firm and unwavering. His fingers, unhurried, slowly, so slowly, explored their territory.
“Reynard! Your hand! Ah…!” While I was still tight, another finger joined the first.

“Hnh!” His lips rained down on my bare skin, leaving a trail of red marks. The traces Clovis had left were long gone, erased by the healing priest’s divine power, but Reynard was meticulously branding me with marks even deeper. The path of his lips trailed down my neck, reaching the peaks of my bre*sts. My head fell back as his lips closed around a n*pple, s*cking and swirling.

Without me realizing it, Reynard had pushed his fingers more than halfway inside me. My body, reacting to the intrusion, was already slick. A l*wd squelching sound accompanied each movement of his fingers. It was a sound so explicit, it made my face burn. Mortified, I pounded on his shoulders. “No! Stop! Put me down, you jerk!”
“Adelina, please. Just a little, hmm?”
