She was furious.

However, it was the result of her own seduction, so there was nothing to blame but herself.

“Do you have something to say?”

“……”

“If that wasn’t enough, we could continue in your room.”

“That won’t be necessary.”

“If walking is difficult, you could always beg me to carry you.”

“I can walk on my own.”

“Then suit yourself.”

He walked past her, completely unbothered. Emilia leaned against the wall, watching his retreating figure.

How could he be so unaffected? Was his body made of steel?

Unlike ordinary people, they were born with the nature of beasts. Their bodies were perfectly balanced and possessed strength beyond human limits.

For some reason, the physical traits of the Bavarian lineage came to her mind. Could it be that their superhuman strength was concentrated down there….

No, that couldn’t be it.

Emilia felt like a fool.

The real problem was that her mind had been so paralyzed by pleasure that she couldn’t think straight.

She must have become addicted to those incredible sensations.

Addicted to what he did to her.

* * *

After a thorough wash, Emilia collapsed onto her bed.

Then she noticed something odd about her room—it was too clean.

‘Did a maid clean this?’

Lately, her room has been cleaned more frequently.

She reached into her pillow and felt around. Her fingers brushed against the hidden dagger.

‘Thank goodness.’

No, it was actually strange that the dagger was still there in such a spotless room.

If a maid had cleaned, there was no way they could have missed it.

Emilia struggled to sit up and moved the pillow aside. The dagger her father had given her was still there, untouched.

“…They knew about it and left it. They must have known.”

How low must they think of her! That they left it there?

Even when she had aimed it at the king, he hadn’t taken it from her.

Emilia clenched her fists. He always made her feel utterly insignificant.

Even if she charged at him with the dagger, could she even graze his neck?

Undoubtedly, his hand would be around her throat before she could strike.

Unfortunately, Emilia couldn’t kill him. It was closer to being unable to.

She collapsed onto the bed, clutching the blanket in frustration.

Did he think she wouldn’t use it to end her own life?

Despite his refusal to grant her a peaceful death, leaving the dagger was an arrogant oversight on his part.

He was confident she wouldn’t try to end her life again. The thought made her chuckle bitterly.

Her grip tightened on the dagger. She could plunge it into her heart right now and find peace.

But then what? Her death would be a minor inconvenience to him and a source of despair for her father.

The Jalliar family would lose a mere pawn in their grand game.

Her death would be a fleeting sadness for them, instilling fear in those who opposed the royal family while they continued to enjoy their power.

‘Why am I…’

So insignificant?

All her hatred for him had been replaced by her body’s primal responses.

A sense of emptiness and helplessness washed over her. If only she could repay him for even a fraction of the emotions she felt toward him.

Emilia’s body trembled with small, involuntary movements. She despised how complacent she had become under his influence.

Whoo, sighing deeply, she rose from the bed. She placed the dagger back under the pillow and tried to think calmly.

If he really did have the Bavarian bloodline, her existence would become even more insignificant.

She might not even have the luxury of hurling curses at him and dreaming of the day she could drive a dagger into his neck.

“Emilia, never forget. The only one who can restore the current royal family is Duke Heinrich.”

“You’re wrong, Father. The only one who can change this situation is me.”

Emilia murmured to herself, recalling her father’s words.

“Seduce Duke Heinrich. Make him your ally, Emilia!”

Perhaps that method might be the easiest after all. When it came to her body, he acted like a dog in heat.

While there might be no emotions involved, his instincts craved her. Just as she felt confused every time they intertwined, he must feel the same.

Emilia exhaled slowly.

Would she die doing nothing, or would she deliver despair to those who had put her in this position?

She had to choose.

Her once bright green eyes had dulled, resembling the withered colors of a dried-up garden.

She wondered how long his arrogance and cruelty would keep him upright and proud.

She wanted to bring him endless despair, rage, and resignation.

The small dagger he had left her might just turn out to be his greatest mistake.
